My mother has been here for years. She had a stroke one day, & the staff was very attentive in noticing she didn't seem right, and quickly acted on their assumptions. The fact they acted so quickly got her to the hospital right away & saved her from paralysis, she's fully recovered & sharp as a tack again. Thanks Westchester staff. The food has room for improvement though.

Westchester Senior Living is convenient because it's only a 2-story development and the grounds are easier to access for my mother. She likes this place better than others we visited. The rooms we saw were big. She likes to cook and she looked in and saw that the kitchen at her apartment is nice. There's also a nice little dining area so that she can sit and eat. There's also a wonderful large balcony area that mom could sit in, so she'd feel comfortable sitting in her own home and still getting fresh air without getting out. They have more of the activities that she's looking for like water aerobics. Our main deciding factor was the price.

Westchester Senior Living is very comfortable. The staff and the people are very friendly. I have an apartment here, they have meals available, a pool, jacuzzi and lots of events. My apartment is a 1-bedroom, and I am completely satisfied with everything in it and there's lots of storage. The physical appearance of the community are very satisfactory, and activities are available. The value for the money is ok. It's also a Christian community. The best thing for me about it is the location, which is near Walmart, near my church and near my doctor.

I already put money down on Westchester Senior Living. It's not very well advertised and run by the Volunteers of America. It's the least expensive and I'm on a waiting list for an efficiency apartment. It's $1,100 a month for efficiency and $1,450 for a one-bedroom. It's a very nice community. They don't have dishwashers in the apartments. You have to go outside of your apartment, so that's not very convenient. I couldn't eat the food there. It's not included, which is a good thing because I wouldn't eat it anyway. It's terrible for what they're charging. The grounds are really nice. The manager is really nice. The clients are a little on the old side for me with people in their 80s, so that was discouraging for me. The person who runs it, Walter, is a really nice guy.

I called to schedule a tour of this facility and I asked if they had alzheimers residents at Westchester. The representative refused to answer my question! I asked again. Again she refused to answer! She then said, "thank you" and hung up. How strange. Before even having been to this facility, it seems very shady. I will not be scheduling any tour at Westchester.

As a family member that visits everyday, I think this place is awful. It takes more than an hour to assists my Aunt's needs. Whether its changing her or checking on her needs. Nurses walk in and out of the room at times and can tell if a patient needs changing just by the smell, but choose to ignore it. This is why some patients get rashes, bed sores, etc. It makes me angry and frustrated how they run their facility. I would Never recommend anyone placing their family members here. Not even an enemy deserves such place. I rate this place a 0!

This place is very bad. I had my mother-in law in this place. She had her stuff stolen from her. She was sexual molested from another patient and the facility did nothing. The director was very rude and unfriendly. I don't recommend any person to live in such a place that don't care about your loves ones.

Frankly, I have nothing good to say about Westchester Care Center. It's an older facility, and in the room that mom was in, the walls were all banged up. The beds were old. There are four people sharing the same bathroom. I don't think the staff was caring. There was no nurturing in their environment. I recommend that people stay away from this place.

I had placed my wife in a private home when her Alzheimer's got to the point that I could no longer take care of her by myself. She got pneumonia and was sent to Westchester for rehab. It was such a perfect place I chose to leave her there. The staff in Westchester are absolutely wonderful. They are caring and loving to my wife. My wife is treated as part of the family even though she really has no idea what is going on any longer. I am so pleased with the care she receives.

I had the opportunity to have hands-on experience at Westchester Care Center when I was performing my clinical hours for my nursing assistant certification. The majority of the staff is very dedicated to their work. They take great pride in the care they deliver to their patients. Some of the nursing staff displayed signs of lack of enthusiasm for their job, which was negatively reflected in their level of care provided to their patients. The rooms were always kept very neat and orderly by all nursing staff. All nursing staff displayed competency to work there. The facility was great at maintaining the daily schedule. The facility provided a few extra curricular activities for residents, but I feel more could be provided. The Alzheimer's Unit is filled with wonderful nursing staff. They are what I feel make Westchester Care Center a great place for someone to consider moving in to.
