My mother moved into Sage House - Expedition. The staff is skilled in their area of care. I believe it is a very organized management. As far as the information we receive from them, so far we've gotten daily messages from them about how my mom's doing. They've sent pictures, which just being so far away, sending a picture and seeing an activity that she's done, means a lot to us. It was friendly and comfortable. I thought the food smelled delicious during the day when it was cooking. We were there one day when they were making a pot roast that was in a large crockpot or an oven type of thing. The smell of it was a very savory meal, and so when mom was served that night because that's one of her big things, food, and she just doesn't have an appetite. The roast was presented beautifully and it was very moist and tasty. The dining area was beautiful. The kitchen was more beautiful than my kitchen. It was also very clean. The staff that came in and would talk to mom were also the cooks. I felt welcome to be there. They let you go and get water and things out of the refrigerator and it was just very open. The room was very clean. It was very bright. I guess that's what I liked about it. They had large windows that could be opened, I think it was a very comfortable size for her, for one person, and she was able to get all of her furniture that we brought. We got everything in there, they had the large closets. They have rooms for activities and things. They have weekly activities. They own several homes. They have live music there every Thursday evening, somebody comes in and has a guitar and sings, or a piano or something like that every Thursday. They do different activities that rotate with the other homes that they own. They had chair yoga going on one evening when we were there. They were baking one day and then the next day they were going to do some baking in the dining room and asked her if she'd like to bake. We got a bang for our buck for Sage House. It was new, it was fresh. It was right. I met four of the staff people, I met the day staff, a nurse, and the night caregiver. The day staff that works one on one with the residents are amazing.
