The co-owner of Heritage at Carefree was very, very nice. She took us around and she was a very, very nice person. She explained the entire facility and how it works. The layout was not to our liking, and if you're living there, it would have to be something that you would like. It was more of an older-looking facility, which means that the furniture and everything were not old, but it's just one of those areas that looks like an older person may have had this furniture and would have lived with this furniture. Not that it was old, but it was the kind of furniture they might enjoy. We toured the independent living, and the rooms were nice and everything, but it's not a new facility; it's an older one. My in-laws were looking for a two-bedroom, and a lot of the available rooms were basically set up for one person. If you watch a lot of the ads, it's a home for moms whose husbands didn't make it. It's not where you have a husband and wife, even though you do; most of these are set up for one person. The in-laws liked the area, but I'm just not positive that they will like the size of the room. It was a gorgeous place, it's just that when I looked for them, I didn't think they were going to like the layout or the size of the rooms that were afforded to them. You have to find this place too. It's out there, but you have to really find it because if you put it on Google Maps or whatever, it takes you to the shopping center right next to the facility. If you go through the other driveway, though, you're at the facility. If you don't figure out to go through this one driveway -- since there is more than one driveway to get into the facility -- when you take the directions that you're given, it puts you into this tiny little shopping center. It's gorgeous, but it's hidden in plain sight. It's right there, but you have to know that you have to make one little turn to be in there instead of making the next little turn and find yourself in the next parking lot over. That's where the directions kind of put you. The staff who gave us the tour was so knowledgeable and so nice. She walked us around to every part of the building. She knocked on the doors of the people who lived there to ask if we could come in and see how their place is laid out. I thought that was very, very nice of somebody to make you feel comfortable. She's so connected to the people who live there that she's able to knock on anyone's door and say, "Hi, how are you doing?"

I toured Heritage at Carefree for my wife. It's a very nice facility, but I wasn't impressed. They got my appointment screwed up for one thing, then the person called me and said she would call me back with more details, but she didn't. They messed up my appointment, and they didn't follow up with me. The person that was handling it seemed very inexperienced. The place looked good and clean. The rooms are fine, I thought they were good, and the size is adequate. The place is close to where I live.

I liked Heritage at Carefree. They were friendly. I felt comfortable there. The people were caring, and you don't get a lot of places like that. Some of the other ones I went to were kind of nonchalant and standoffish. I just overall liked them. They were great. Everybody was nice over there. The rooms weren't bad at all; they were organized. The facility was good. It was very clean from what I've seen and I'm a very clean person, so I know clean.

Our overall impression of Heritage at Carefree was that it's a wonderful place for my mother because they would be able to provide the necessary care that she needs, and it's a beautiful place. The grounds and everything are beautiful. The person who toured me was very knowledgeable and showed us everything. We looked at two different rooms, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom. The two-bedroom was designed nicely, and they each had their own private room. It was like an open space where they could wander into each other's room and they were closed off by doors. The menu looked very balanced and she would have the nutrition that she needed. They didn't really have activities going on at the time when I was there. It was right at lunchtime, so they weren't doing any painting or the activities that they said they do. That would have been really important to me because my dad just passed away, so it's important to know if they have activities that they say they do to keep my mom busy. However, it was nice to see that groups of residents would sit in the library and just chat, or they were outside just chatting. It was nice to see that they became friends while in this environment. They have a beauty place where you get your nails and your hair done, a barbershop for men, a rehab room, and just lots of places where people can gather, sit, and talk. That was a good thing. The facility was also immaculate. It's just that there was no staff around, except the owner who was there and gave us the tour. I asked her what happened to all the staff, and she said that they were in the rooms with the residents getting them ready for lunch, so when you don't see anybody, you just kind of get a little concerned. You're there at one time and you're there at another time, so it's hard to tell which one is accurate, if they are just advertising it or they actually have these things going on today.

Heritage at Carefree was very nice. They're very sweet and helpful. The room was really nice, but I feel like my husband needs more care than they could give him. The staff and the people are really caring. There seems like a lot going on, it's decorated very well, and clean. The whole garden is the whole center; it's a pretty large area outside. There are rooms that share a bathroom. They have a parlor or a sitting room when you come in. It was a very beautiful place, a very nice-looking place.

My tour at Heritage at Carefree was fine. Everything looked good, neat, and very clean. They looked pretty good staffed. I've seen everything, the room, the hallway and the kitchen. It's just not suitable for my dad. The staff members were great, very friendly and very helpful. I was happy with them at first, but when I talked to the case manager, she said that my dad needed a different facility than this one because it's not suitable for him. The studio had a separate bathroom, a full bedroom, and a small kitchen area. The place was beautiful, the courtyard looked beautiful, and the library looked beautiful and very organized. You got everything that you need up there.

Heritage at Carefree Independent Living seemed extremely well done. I have no negative feedback, the community seemed okay. The person who accommodated us during the tour was Natalie, and she was great. The dining area looked nice, it had tablecloths and was very well-done. I didn't see any activities at the time of the visit. The staff, Natalie, did a great job.

I like that Heritage at Carefree had large-enough apartments. It had a really nice area on the first floor and seemed to have more activities. I have been to their cocktail hour, and I also had dinner there. The food was very good, and had all the amenities.

This Is a lovely place, the staff is so helpful. Some of the residents were headed out to lunch as a group. Very clean my mother will be moving in Dec. The price and staff really helped us decide on where to put my mother. I would highly recommend the Heritage at Carefree

Heritage Assisted Living is very nice and opulent. The residents we saw didn't look very active. There was a lot of space inside the facility and there were some places where activities take place. At the end of the day, we didn't like it. It was also easily the highest price facility of all the ones we saw.

Heritage at Carefree was a pretty fancy place and really nice. They had more residents in the assisted living than in the memory care unit. The rooms were nice, and the dining area was really pretty. They had a library and a pool table. They were quite close to the Catholic Church and had mass once a week.

My mother has been a resident at the Heritage for nearly 5 years. She is happy and content. The facility is absolutely top shelf in every way. They offer many different activities, special holiday celebrations, excellent food and the staff takes a personal interest in the care of each resident. I would not even consider looking at a different alternative for my Mom. I know she gets the best of care and I am secure in the knowledge that she is in good hands 24/7.

This facility is located in Carefree and is not far from loop 101 freeway. The first thing that you will notice about this facility is that it is beautiful. It looks like a mansion from the outside, and the inside is wonderfully decorated. The entry to the facility is very grand looking, and immediately after you walk inside there is an attendant stationed at a desk that is available to assist you with anything you need. There is a large sitting area just inside that has a great deal of space for activities and socializing amongst the tenants. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful; I did not meet a single person that was not friendly amongst them. The resident I was there to see at the time needed assistance, and the staff responded promptly. The rooms for the residents are spacious and well designed. The residents that I saw while I was there seemed very happy with their accommodations, and I really did not see a single negative thing in the time I was there.

This is a beautiful retirement community offering independent, assisted, and memory care. They have studio apartments, one bedroom and two with varying floor plans. These are beautifully decorated as is the rest of the facility.Utilities, phone and internet are included. The assisted living has partial kitchens. The apartments are all handicapped equipped and have emergency call system. They have a beautiful formal dining room, multipurpose rooms, beauty and barber shop, fitness area, and a spa. There is a golf course nearby. They have housekeeping and linen service weekly. They offer three meals a day and snacks in a restaurant style setting, They have a daily continental breakfast and juice bar. They have catered meals and parties in the formal dining room. The food is delicious. They have nurses on staff and call. They have a staff of certified caregivers. They have a house doctor who comes in and transport out to appointments can be arranged as well as escort service. The grounds are beautiful with sitting and walking areas. There is lots of nice decor, trees, flowers, and greenery. This a very actively orientated community. They have exercise classes, movies, fitness, arts and crafts, parties, and a busy schedule of various activities. They plan trips for cultural events, community happenings, and even low cost vacations. This facility has a very happy and uplifting lifestyle,
