We like South Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. My mom likes it pretty well, too. The physical and occupational therapists are very good. They work with her every day. So, I would recommend them. It is also very clean. The staff is real receptive to all the residents. Her room has a shared bath, and she's OK with it. The food is excellent. She likes everything that they serve. They serve a large amount of food for everyone, with meat, two vegetables, a dessert, tea, and water. Each meal is large. It's not skimpy at all. She comments that she's going to gain the weight back that she's lost. I think they do a good job with the maintenance as well. It is a little pricey, but they got a very helpful, very kind, and very attentive staff.

Do not put your elderly family member at South Hampton. Room was spacious and fair on clean part. Wheel chair had a lot of hair and trash on the wheels, disgusting. Mom (86 ) went to SH after a stay in Hsv Hospital for a bacteria infection that started at her foot from an ant bite. She continued antibiotics the first week at SH and after the second week the foot still looks horrible. I question the nurse practitioner if they checked to make sure the infection was gone based on the appearance of the foot. She told me it was that color because when the elderly skin will look like that from the trama to foot and skin and probably always will. I was persistent and the next morning an ultrasound showed a blocked artery in her leg. Needless to say back to HH. I showed the picture of her foot to another CRNP and the first thing out of their mouth was that's a circulation problem.
