My mother-in-law was in Brookshire Healthcare Center in Huntsville. She had dementia, and it was a very sad situation, but I thought they did well. I did not see her that often, but based on my personal experience with them, they seemed fine. Because she had dementia and really didn't communicate that much, there were times when the food in her refrigerator got spoiled and things like that. I think she just didn't communicate well, but all in all, I thought it was OK. I did not visit her as much, but I thought it was fairly clean. Of course, with so many of the residents being incontinent, sometimes there was a smell. It was not bad, but I understand with so many residents being incontinent, it might be impossible to prevent the smell all the time. They tried to have activities like religious services. She really couldn't attend or do much of that toward the end, but they tried to provide activities and services. Her room was a semi-private, but there were times when there was no one else in the room. The financial person there worked with the family, and she seemed compassionate. The finances can be stressful, and she worked with the family on that; it was very helpful.

This was the worst experience ever!! My poor mom was a patient for the last 11months of her life, prior to her passing in November 2021. I have never witnessed such horrible service as I witnessed at Brookshire, especially for what we were paying a month!!! They lost my mom’s clothing numerous times, as well as lost, or walked off with, my moms hearing aids. When you try to talk to someone about refunding us for the *lost* hearing aids, no one ever responds. My mom always smelt of urine every time I would visit her. Never seen a facility treat their patients so poorly!! Would never recommend BROOKSHIRES to anyone!!!😡😡😡😡

The food was very basic. Too much fried food. Not very nutritional.

I visited my longtime friend at this facility this past Saturday. I was most impressed with the fact that u walk in the facility and it smells clean. It’s a much older bldg in an older part of Huntsville but clean and one of the friendliest staff you could meet. There is a feeling of positive thoughts and love for not only residents but family as well. Thank you for what I are doing for my dear friend and keep up the great work you are doing for our elderly population.

After touring multiple facilities in the area, I found Brookshire Healthcare Center to be one of the BEST I've ever seen! They have Registered Nurses 24-Hours a day x 7 days, which most other homes do not, and this is extremely important to everyone involved on a daily basis. It was extremely clean and no oders at all, the floors shined like mirrors. I was very impressed with their Therapy Department and all the special equipment they had to offer. I highly reccommend this facility/home to anyone needing short term and/or long term care!!!

Mom has been at Brookshire Healthcare Center in the past. The facility's cleanliness is just average, and the food is not that great. The care that she had was just ordinary. The staff seemed to be OK, and she didn’t have any problems with them. They have activities, but she wasn’t interested in them because she is not a social person. Overall, I think this facility is OK.

We had a horrifying experience with this facility. My brother stayed here for a month. He never got the rehabilitation he should have. His behavior changed and they assumed it was normal. I can't make them understand that it's not usual and I can't find help as well. They didn't send him to a hospital for medical evaluation. When his behavior changed, they gave him more medicine. So he had stroke again. This place is not well kept and it smells. I will not recommend this place even to my enemies.
