For me to recommend them more, their process for assigning workers to patients was not satisfactory because I hoped we would be able to hire someone to come regularly each day and that the same person would come and instead they signed people up by posting the need for workers and having their staff sign up for the time required so they might come once or a couple of times and the lack of the consistency was trouble.

When we are constantly having to go over things and train them, that takes a lot of effort. They should make sure that all time slots are filled. They should make sure the caregivers read the necessary documentation before they arrive. There are great caregivers. There are some that are average.

It's helpful. What would be more helpful, though, is to call more often to see if everything is okay and satisfactory. They could have more communication between the aides. They could have more communication with the schedulers. Sometimes there will be a change in the schedule and they don't let me know about that. Someone comes to the door and I don't even know they are scheduled. This has happened about three times in the last three months.

BrightStar Care isn't good care for clients that are dementia-oriented. What my mother has is dementia, and the caregivers aren't very good for that. The CNAs don't have a lot of training in that. I wouldn't recommend BrightStar Care if someone needs help with a client who has dementia. What BrightStar Care really needs to do is to get their caregivers to go through a one or two day dementia client orientation. They just need basic techniques on how to interact with people who have dementia.

I like the way they screen their employees at Bright Star. We've been using this agency since February. The care we receive is great. The caregiver keeps the house clean, does the dishes and helps with preparing meals. She has a very pleasant attitude and is a hard worker. I really like the way she just goes about doing the work without us having to direct her. She just comes in and starts doing it. I would highly recommend Bright Star's services.
