My husband and I decided to bring my mother in law home from an assisted living facility. After talking with 3 home health care businesses we decided on Home Instead. The Care Coordinator was so informative, caring, and respectful of our requests it was a easy decision to make. The folks at Home Instead came for a visit prior to her homecoming and helped us prepare and consider safety issues that we didn't even think of. The home health care workers have been punctual, kind, and willing to help in any way. We had one situation that was "not a good fit" and the Care Coordinator assisted us in finding a new home health care worker that was. The nurse has been incredible and so available. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Home Instead and their family of employees. Thank you so much for helping us care for my mother-in-law. Janet Dalton

This is a nasty disease(alzheimers) there as so many challanges day to day. You can never be prepared for what may happen because each day and each patient is different, but the best thing i can tell anyone dealing with this is to show love and patience and plan time away for yourself , because if you dont it makes it harder for you to deal with the everyday stress of caring for a parent or whomever you are caring for...God has blessed us with the ability to keep my mother in law at home with us through the help from home in stead..we are blessed with each day we have and home in stead has been a blessing to us. we had some rough spots at first with staff , but we have a great couple of caregivers and we are thankful and appreciate them and all they do... If someone is going to be late we usually get a call to let us know.. my7andme

The communication between the assisted living facility where Mom lives and you is very good when there will be a delay in arrival or a change. This is very helpful because I do not live in the area where Mom lives. Most email communication is efficient. All phone calls are answered or returned promptly when I need something. I like the visits by the staff making sure their staff is providing the correct care (one a month or every 6 weeks, not sure the timing).

For the second time, I have recently turned to Home Instead in Lynchburg, VA to secure 24/7 help with an elderly relative. I live 130 miles away and feel great comfort to have this caring and reliable support. I am impressed with the agency's responsiveness to special requests and to efforts to find the best fit between their caregivers and my relative. While my relative is already in a nursing home, H.I. staff provide that extra level of fall prevention and ready assistance with socialization and ADLs. A big thanks!

I have been with Home Instead from the onset. Prior to their selection, I interviewed several candidates which offered competitive profiles. By far, Home Instead left the best impression. Home Instead provides expert in-home care to my wife, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 3 years ago. I provided her care for the first two years, but as her condition progressed, it became obvious she needed more full-time attention. I have been very impressed and satisfied with the first person Home Instead offered for my wife's care. She is a college graduate with a background in physiology. While still in college she did an internship in elder care. In the ensuing months, she has progressed from companion care to personal care, providing outstanding support at each level.

I was looking for an Homecare Agency for my mom who needs daily assistance. I was able to find a list of home care agency On Caring.com and I found Home Instead Senior Care. I find them very excellent. The people that they send out are very knowledgeable. They are geared towards taking care of elderly adults and they are very good at what they are doing. I'm very satisfied with how they treat and assist my mother.
