I would give this facility a zero if I could. Please don't go to this Hospice. My entire family was treated horribly during such a terrible time. My sister, the patient, was single and has two daughters in their mid twenties, plus numerous family members from out of town arrived while she was there. I know it is COVID but you allow us to all be together outside, we eat together, we stay together but we can't be together in her room. I'm not even sure where to start with all the things that happened. We had to go in two at a time. My sister was only there for 3 days, however in that time numerous family members were asked to leave the room during difficult moments. The night we thought my sister would pass my niece was escorted out of the facility, to the parking lot by a security guard. On the night she felt she was going to lose her mother they made her leave. By my sister's last day they turned the elevator off and we had to be escorted to her room as she was passing and after her death to say goodbye. The security guard tried to enter the room to kick people out. Fortunately, my brother's words stopped him. While my nieces sat saying goodbye to their mother during the last moments of her life (without their husbands because only 2 people in the room) a women was cleaning the room. They had to ask her three times to leave and finally just yelled at her. My one niece couldn't leave her mother and should not of had to, but the security guard stood there and made sure no one else went in to help her. We never tried to have large groups, just three or four depending on what was happening. When a loved one is dying it is very difficult to take turns. You may not get another moment that they will be lucid enough to talk to you or just open their eyes. This is the last time. It's also hard to not have your support person by your side during these times. Where is the compassion? I am writing this review in hopes that it will get to the people who make decisions for this facility and who donate to it so that they will make changes. I really don't want another family to have to go through what we did during a family death. This is a hospice facility, they should be more understanding. My sister is gone and we can't change what happened to our family, but I hope the facility will think about their policies and make changes so that other families don't have to experience what we did.

Houston Hospice provided support and care for my elderly mother while she lived at home with my family over the past two months during her battle with cancer. The nurses and physicians in the Red Team were outstanding. They provided thoughtful advice, compassionate care and were highly responsive and quick to action when we needed it. Requests for medication and medical equipment were provided within 24 hr. They provided pastoral support and a kind volunteer would regularly call and chat with my mother by phone. I would highly recommend Houston Hospice, they were the best!

This is a HORRIBLE facility. My mother was sent here from the hospital, and it was a nightmare trying to get any kind of information out of these people on staff. I was sent in 5 different directions with the staff going round and round on the phone not putting me thru to medical records where I could get records on my mother's stay at this hospice. I wouldn't recommend this facility to a dead rat. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to take your family member that knows what they're doing.

We were very pleased with the staff at Lighthouse Hospice when our father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We welcomed the various nurses and other helpers to our home and they went out of their way to provide exceptional care. They made a world of difference to our family, because prior to their arrival, we were my sister and I were exhausted from care giving 24 hours a day. A soon as the hospice people arrived we felt like we had a team working on our behalf. THANK YOU!

My family member died here yesterday. I thank this facility and all who work there for their support. This was my first experience with Hospice care and I would recommend this facility to anyone. We had left the hospital environment where we felt safe fearing that he would recieve less care. He received exceptional care in a far quieter environment. What a blessing!

Houston Hospice came to my home, and they were very good and made me feel comfortable. The clergy and the nurse came every week. They had someone that came twice a week to bathe and help me clean.

My mother chose to be at Houston Hospice before she passed away. I did not care much for them, but my sister loved them. She was in a nice room, and it was very large. The facility is very nice. It has a place for prayer and a gazebo. Most of the staff was extremely courteous.

Worst hospice ever! Couldn't get a nurse to call back, medications didn't come in until the next day. My grandmother was in a lot of pain and no meds to give her. Called the nurse several times and took 4 hours before a return call. I will never recommend this hospice to anyone.

My sister was at home hospice for 31 days before she passed with lung cancer. Our hospice nurse Kay was the most caring and compassinate person. She really kept us informed and we knew that she really cared about the comfort of my sister!!! When my sister did pass Kay bent down and kissed her forehead and told her goodbye and we just thought that was the sweetest thing ever. She was the best nurse we could of ever asked for. Thank you Kay!!!!
