They don't do a lot, they don't turn her like she needs it, and they don't clean her up. They don't wash their hands when they come in and that should be the first thing that they do. Sometimes I have to remind them to wash their hands. I would like a caregiver that comes on a regular basis to help. With the timing its hard to do that. They would have to be here from 6 am to 4 pm.

They're good but don't have a solution for when caregivers aren't available. Just an industry issue, if someone isn't available to show up, it falls back on the family to provide the care. It's happened about 4-5 times, no solution.

The caregivers that have not been a good match for us need better training with the different clients. They need to work with a paralyzed client to prevent falls. That needs to be included in all employee trainings. It's preventative care and not after the fact care. They could understand the client's needs better and make sure that the caregivers are paying attention to the care plan and those things.

The main thing they help me with is helping me get to the doctor or other things. There have been times when they don't show up on time because of a sub has to be called which makes it hard because I need to be at my appointment on time. I would recommend them because they let me do the things that I can do.

My wife had Bluebird Homecare for a couple of weeks. Basically, it was just a babysitter from ten at night until six in the morning. I cannot recommend them. The girl who came was late almost every time. She didn't show up one night and didn't tell anybody. All they did was to make sure that she didn't go out the front door, and that gave me an opportunity to take a shower and sleep. They didn't have to perform any other duties than just to be there to make sure that nobody left. I went to their office on a Tuesday and filled out the paperwork, and Wednesday night we had somebody here. We had four different people, but the main one who was supposed to be there two weeks later on a Wednesday night didn't call, didn't show up, and didn't do anything. By that time, we already had the alarm system pretty much in place. I went ahead and was going to cancel the service anyway, and that was the beginning of the bad weather. Their only responsibility was to be here by the front door, so that my wife couldn't leave. It only lasted about two weeks, and they were late almost every day. The billing was charged to my credit card. I chose them because they were nearby. I could go by their office and get the paperwork done. I'm not a computer person, so I wanted to go in person. We went on a Tuesday, and they had somebody here Wednesday night. The first person was OK. She was here on time the first night, but then she was ten or fifteen minutes late every time. One time, she was even thirty minutes late. I know she can't work seven days a week, but they had trouble scheduling and they couldn't be here. We want them at ten o'clock, and they couldn't be here until eleven one night, which was fine, but nobody showed up on a Wednesday night. I called them after an hour and told them, "We don't need you anymore."

They worked with us to provide after several hits and misses, a group of caregivers that were able to provide the services we need in a professional and compatible manner.
