    I interviewed this provider

This is the most unpredictable company my family has ever dealt with..my sister in law is handicapped and can't do anything for herself...when the sitters do show up, which is about half the time, there late or go home early because they get sick...right now I'm sitting here waiting on someone to show up!!...I don't even mind they play on their phones most of the time their here...my wife and I both work 12 hour shifts and it's hard for her to leave work to take care of her...very disappointing with these people!!!

I am a current client of this provider

I have Sitters, Etc. for my grandmother. So far I'm very pleased with them. They have done pretty well with her. They're very friendly, and she likes them, so that's what really counts. The caregiver is just very good with her. She enjoys talking with her. She doesn't just sit around and do nothing. She actually acts like she really cares about my grandmother.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I chose them because I already read about them on your site. They had different girls everyday which was not really good, but the one on the last day was exceptional. The one that I met helped my husband any way she could and she just kept asking what else she could do. They were helping my husband with personal care and making sure he had something to eat. The management was good and they're the only service we've used.

About SEI Healthcare in Brentwood, Tennessee

After 11 years of providing home care, it is our experience that the most successful care goes beyond creating and implementing a personalized care plan for your loved one. While superior care begins with a thorough, customized care plan, we believe the best outcomes are achieved only when it is implemented by experienced caregivers who have an aptitude for superior performance. Far beyond assisting your loved one with activities of daily living, we select only those caregivers who can be trusted to perpetuate our Culture of Caring® by mindfully providing the comfort, promoting the well-being, and preserving the dignity of every client they serve.

It is our desire to provide your loved one the best service in the industry. To this end, we ask that you communicate openly and thoroughly with us regarding your expectations and our caregivers’ performance, and will periodically ask for your feedback.

    Our services include:

    Personal Care

The lack of ability to provide for their own intimate needs and hygiene are often a source of depression in the elderly. Our caregivers are trained to offer as much assistance as needed while also encouraging as much independence as possible in situations where appropriate.

Our caregivers promote independence and maintain dignity while assisting with:

    • Grooming and Dressing
    • Bathing
    • Continence Care
    • Mobility
    • Oral Care
    • Hair Care

    Companionship

The role of a companion to the elderly is to provide emotional support, fellowship, and encouragement to stay healthy as long as possible. For those who live alone and are fairly isolated, companionship adds greatly to their quality of life. Our Caregivers promote the well-being of our clients by

    • Providing lively conversation
    • Reminiscing about past experiences
    • Discussing past and historical events
    • Stimulating mental awareness
    • Accompanying to lunch/dinner
    • Escorting to church or other events
    • Picking up prescriptions
    • Transporting and running errands
    • Medication Reminders

    Medication Reminders

One of the services that most puts a family’s mind at ease is that of providing medication reminders. Our caregivers can ensure that all medications are taken appropriately and at the correct time. A family member or nurse prepares the daily, weekly, or monthly pill reminder box, and we take it from there!

    Meal preparation

Many seniors simply lose their desire to eat. Preparing a meal often becomes a very unappealing task, even to those who are able. In addition to meal preparation, our Caregivers encourage eating and provide the companionship during meal time that often stimulates their clients toward better eating habits.

Our Caregivers ensure dietary needs are met by:

    • Adhering to dietary restrictions/needs
    • Planning and preparing meals; cleaning up afterward
    • Assisting client with eating
    • Cleaning up afterward

    Light Housekeeping

Clean and sanitary surroundings contribute to both the physical and emotional health of your loved one. Our Caregivers maintain the home’s cleanliness and appearance by:

    • Dusting furniture
    • Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors
    • Changing linens and making beds
    • Cleaning laundry and ironing
    • Cleaning bathrooms
    • Taking out garbage

Even in situations where light housekeeping is not part of a client’s care plan, our caregivers are trained to keep the client’s area safe and sanitary.

    Errands

Everyone needs simple errand service when experiencing time or health constraints which do not allow you the opportunity to do it yourself. Our Caregivers take care of the grocery shopping, prescription pick up, mailing letters, dropping off and picking up laundry from the cleaners, and any other errand that the client and family deem necessary to their continuing to function at home.

    Transportation

Our clients often need to be escorted or transported to doctor’s appointments, church events, social outings, birthday parties or other places. Sitters Etc.’s caregivers can drive our clients to their destination. Whether utilzing their client’s or their own vehicle, we run a Motor Vehicle Report on all caregivers providing transportation.

    Our specialties also include:

    Post-surgical recoveries

Most surgeries require healing time before the patient can be fully functional and independent. Our caregivers provide assistance with activities of daily living while closely monitoring the patient for signs and symptoms of possible complications such as breathing difficulty, increased, or a decrease in ability to function in general.

    Alzheimer’s patients

Our caregivers are trained to recognize the various behaviors associated with each stage of Alzheimer’s and how to deal with such issues confusion, anger and aggression, agitation, suspicions, and delusions. They understand the underlying causes of such behaviors and respond with patience and empathy. They give instructions that are simple and easy to understand.

    Dementia patients

Individuals with dementia often feel vulnerable and in need of reassurance and support. Our caregivers have been trained to be flexible and tolerant, to make time to listen and chat, and to show affection in ways in which they and their client are both comfortable.

    Rehab patients

Patients who have completed rehabilitation within a skilled nursing facility often still need help when returning home. Until they regain their strength and mobility, our caregivers provide assistance with activities of daily living while encouraging independence.
