Mom’s caregiver, Ruth Nan of Gresham Visiting Angels, has been like a family member providing loving care. Ruth is truly an angel who deserves many halos. She is with mom 3 hours, 5 days per week. Ruth works holidays and an occasional weekend day without hesitation and is always willing to help with mom’s care as needed. She anticipates mom’s needs and follows through in a gentle, thoughtful and positive manner. She encourages mom to eat and prepares leftovers for her, helps to select menu items for meals, prompts mom to drink water, take her meds, walks with her for exercise, tracks her weight and blood pressure, carefully follows all of the instructions from mom’s doctors, and often attends doctor appointments during her shifts to provide input. Ruth helps with bathing and dressing as needed, reminds mom to use her walker with every step to prevent falls, deals intuitively with dementia- and macular-caused hallucinations, delusions and depression, prays with her, reads to her, and provides personal services to improve mom’s self-esteem. Ruth takes initiative to meet mom’s needs, including taking inventory of supplies and requesting they be ordered, helping to sort through mom’s belongings, and organizing and cleaning to create a better, cleaner, safer environment for mom. Ruth has been caring for mom for 1.5 years. She has the utmost patience and affection and often deals with issues with a quick wit and by redirecting mom’s thoughts. Ruth and the owner and staff of the business are the best partners in caring for mom that my sister and I could ever imagine.

Visiting Angels is a wonderful business. They have given my sister and I peace of mind since they have been visiting my mother.They do many things for our mother that helps her in her daily life.They are very tenative and the main office is in constant contact with the family. If we need extra help with any chore we just ask them and provide an answer immediately. There very good about keeping family informed.

I have had Visiting Angels-Gresham for a week now, and it's been great. They are timely, and they've done everything that we've asked for. They're kind, and we're very happy with them. They provide pretty much anything for my grandfather. They will run errands for him, do his laundry, prepare his meals, and help with any housekeeping. We chose them because we were referred by another individual who lives near my grandpa and was pleased with them. I've only met the caregiver once and she's nice. She takes care of what he needs and that's all that matters. They bill weekly and get paid weekly, and the schedule set a few weeks in advance. I would refer them to other people, but it depends on your needs and your wants. So, it's probably not for everyone.

Our experience with Visiting Angels Gresham was good. My mom liked the people that came out and attended to her; she liked them very much. The caregivers came and visited with her for three hours every day for a week. They made sure she was doing OK, walked with her, helped her get her mail, watered her plants, and did a little tidying up around the house. They were also in the house when she took a shower, so she wasn't totally alone. She ended up with three different caregivers. The manager came first, then a different girl came, but the last one that came she really liked a lot. This agency was referred by my mom's doctor.

Visiting Angels has been an excellent group. If they have trouble finding someone they always seem to get it together and get somebody over there to be with my mother. They've been treating her with respect and dignity. They've been helping out a lot, and they help her read. It's worked out super for us, but it's expensive. The people that run the Gresham group especially are just really top notch. They've been really good, they're caring people, and always there for you if you have problems. Even the owner has come over and spent time with my mother.

Visiting Angels (Gresham, OR) is WONDERFUL. I have used their services for my parents for seven years. Beginning in 2009, my father's health was in decline and he needed more help than my mother could provide. Visiting Angels helped us with everything we needed. After he passed in 2010, my mother's health deteriorated immediately and they were right there with me every step of the way. I live an hour away and work full time, so dealing with the constant issues that pop up with an elderly person in declining health could be hard to deal with, but the administrators and caregivers of Visiting Angels were always there to help, they went above and beyond, and were always willing to think outside of the box to figure out how to remedy whatever situation arose. I moved my mother into a nursing home last week and a piece of me is sad to see my relationship with Visiting Angels end. After all this time they have become like family to me, a resource I could depend on when I frequently felt there was nobody else. Thank you, thank you to Monica, Jody, Kathie, Judy, and all the caregivers. You guys are THE ABSOLUTE BEST!

Visiting Angels was referred to me. The angels that would come and visit me would do anything I asked of them. If they would do everything they said they would do, it would be wonderful. They had discussed the billing and scheduling with me, and I had no problems with that.
