Southern Care Hospice, Toledo, provided the best staff, best information and the best support and care I could have ever asked for. The staff blew me away with their honesty of what to expect and the compassion that I needed during such a difficult time. Southern Care Hospice was absolutely perfect from day one to months after my dad's passing. Each staff touched my heart and made it possible to fulfill my dad's wishes. I am grateful for the Toledo area staff and all aspects of care that was given. An absolute blessing.

We called Hospice when we knew our Dad was close to death. In 3 short days, my brother and I were VERY impressed with your service, attention to detail, and truly calming and professional interactions with our dad. Every visit was thorough, caring, and ultra professional. Five stars doesn't do justice to how pleased I am with your services! Thank you very much!!

My mother was on services and received stellar care. The nurse was caring, compassionate and attentive to my mothers needs. The aide was sweet and took her time with her personal care. Amazing team.

This hospice was very disappointing Many promises were made at the initial meeting, but very few were kept. More than once, someone was scheduled to come (my mother was a home care patient), but then no one did. I went to the social worker for help with a family conflict, but, while lip service was paid, there was no real help. This social worker repeated to each party what the other had said, turning it into a "he said, she said" situation, and escalating the conflict. In one instance, when we asked for someone to provide respite care while we left the home for a while, we were told it couldn't be done, because the boss wouldn't authorize overtime. That may have been true, but it seems like an unprofessional thing to say to a family receiving their services. Some staff members were barely civil to some family members, I'm guessing because they had heard one side of the family conflict. I would expect professionals to be above that. Worst of all, my mother wasn't seen for many successive days, because she didn't qualify for the next level of care. We were still being told this 36 hours before her death. There was one nurse who was excellent, caring and competent. Otherwise, this was a very bad experience, and I would recommend to anyone looking for a hospice, that you look elsewhere.

Poor service all the way around. From taking 3 days to get needed medicine to the ill to billing, promises the world delivers very little. Never contacted family after the family members death, notified by nursing home only. Their chaplain did show up at church just before funeral began. That's it. Where is all the support they supposedly provide? Kept telling us they were in the middle of "transition" as a business. They should have told us this from the beginning. We went with company the nursing recommended. Never ever recommend this company. Only after the medicare $.
