The agency provides night care 4 times a week, from 11PM to 7AM, and daycare twice a week, for 4 hours a day.They have always arrived on time or even a little early. If someone will be late, the agency always calls to let me know that. My husband, with Parkinson's and dementia, is the one who needs the actual help, and by extension, so do I! They have all been very tuned in to his needs, and he has liked them all. Circumstances have dictated having to change caregivers several times, and the agency has worked well with us to give us unbroken service. When possible, they have brought the new caregiver to our home ahead of time to meet us and have me show them the care that's required. This is especially important for the night care, so my husband doesn't suddenly wake up to a stranger. Their communication skills are excellent! They check in with us from time to time to make sure all is going well. Caregivers arrive promptly, or even a little early, and are friendly and helpful; I can't say enough good things about the two people we have presently! They are patient with my husband and treat him with great kindness. I am so grateful that I chose Home Instead!

Home Instead allows my 100 year old Mother, who is legally blind, to stay in her familiar surroundings. They are always on time and adjust the schedule whenever we request a change. They provide social interaction, read her mail, grocery shopping, laundry and help her keep up with family/ friend birthdays which is so important to my Mom. My brother and I live in different cities. Home Instead care givers turn a difficult situation into a pleasant experience for my Mother.

She makes us laugh and de stresses us through laughter and caring, especially with the huge challenge facing us on a daily basis. Our 81 yr old father was "scooter bound" until after a sudden short illness left him weak and bedbound. We wanted him to be able to stay at home. Roediger and Sons Home Instead in Dayton, Ohio has made that possible. Tracie, our Client Care Coordinator, and everyone at the office that we've had contact with, have bent over backward to make sure every shift, every need was met satisfactorily. We have had only one issue with a caregiver and it was dealt with swiftly. The office staff is friendly and responsive. The caregivers are rotated until personalities match and everyone is comfortable. The visiting "ambassadors" assist new caregivers in the home on first visit and make periodic visits to ensure things are running smoothly. The coordinators are professional in writing out personalized care plans for your loved one that can be updated with a phone call. They cover 24/7 365 if you need it. I wish there was a way that all families and seniors could afford such care. The prices are not outrageous really. The price is nothing compared to the peace of mind you have once personally trained and responsible caregivers are in place. It's a life saver. Thank you.

When it comes time to select a Home Care Provider the questions always out number the answers. Do you have any recommendations, how will I know the back ground of the companies, can I trust my loved one in their care, etc. The answer to these questions can be boiled down to a simple few. Find an agency that has been around your local and is established for a good period of time. Make sure they are a full service agency, i.e. in addition to 24hr care, they also completely handle insurance submission, up to date invoicing and payment procedures. Lastly, trust your feelings of the personnel you talk with. If they give you a feeling of confidence and caring, then you've found a good agency. That's why I choose Home Instead.

There were times that a caregiver was unable to be here for her shift. The home office called promptly and sent another caregiver to fill in. Home Instead has taken wonderful care of my mother in many different situations. They have cared for her at the assisted living and also when she has been in the hospital. They have provided companionship to her and have really helped me look out for her when I could not be there. At one point I was recovering from chemotherapy and my mother was sick. I believe that the wonderful care and compassion they provided helped her remain moble with a walker and made it possible for her to stay in her assisted living.

We have been with HomeInstead for about a year. My 92 year old Dad lives with us, and we have caregiver shifts covered for him 3 hours every morning. They provide Companion and Home Helper Services as my Dad walks with and without a cane, independently cares for most of his personal needs, and is in relatively good physical health, He has dementia and balance problems and every day is different; communication can be a challenge since he denies having any memory loss. His caregivers give us a break from each other, keep him safe, help him with exercises, and take him out for outings and errands if he wishes. He is so appreciative of having "friends" to do things with since he does not identify with other seniors, and he can shed his roles of Dad and grandpa and just be Tom. Every caregiver has been well trained and comfortable with his dementia and behaviors; all have been extremely reliable, conscientious, and his regular caregivers have become almost like family. The agency provides excellent back up when issues arise with my Dad, Coordinator Kelly regularly re-evaluates services, and the scheduling staff are always able to cover extra shifts, including 24 hour care, when requested. I am completely confident that in may absence dad will not only be safe and well taken care of, but that he will enjoy the caregivers, His regular caregivers genuinely enjoy him, they have truly enriched Dad's life and make it possible for us to continue to live together.
