I was seeking a concierge, elite agency to provide nursing care for my husband. I looked into four and chose Alvita mainly due to the cheaper pricing as well as I felt the nursing director went above and beyond when she called me and walked me through everything. The very first day things went wrong. The nurse knew nothing about my husband. Day 2, 3, 4, a new nurse every time. All who seemed very unskilled and dazed and confused. One nurse told me that there were no trainings and no direct management of the nursing team. Long story short, I switched agencies to one that provides true concierge higher class services and we are now happy. Just like the adage goes, you get what you pay for and this is the case with Alvita. I think they may be more of a fit like a Medicaid agency. If you are looking for that elite, VIP care this is not the agency for you.

Alvita Care is hands down the best care service we could have hired. After my grandpa had a stroke, we were worried about him being alone and how he would function in his daily life. That is when Alvita Care came in. Their nurses and staff always show up on time, bright and full of energy. My grandfather has become close with his aides and even jokes about making us leave just so they could come over! The staff assists him with any and all needs such as housekeeping, prepping meals, bathing, shopping, companionship, and assistance with going to doctor’s appointments, social events, and any other appointment he may have. My grandpa loves how the aides make it feel like they truly want to be there with him and not like it is just their job. I would recommend Alvita Care to anyone who needs a home health aide, they truly are the best.

They sent another man named Daniel. There was a nurse from the agency who came the same day Daniel started. There was poop in the client's diaper and he never poops in his diaper, so Daniel didn't ask him to go to the bathroom. His Foley bag was completely full. He did not do any cooking or light housekeeping, which is what is in the contract. He stared at the client all day. He was with us for a couple of weeks, then I got a call saying that he couldn't make it and they sent someone else. They sent a girl who was 15 minutes late, went outside to smoke, then left the client alone for 2 1/2 hours. Thank God my mother was there, but she had just gotten out of the hospital. She came back, got my father out of bed, took him to the table to eat, and let him with my mom to help him eat. I was going to report them to the state, but I didn't. Thankfully, the first agency we had had somebody to fill the slots. If they hadn't been able to do that, I was going to call another agency. The first aide that came was lovely, but wasn't really sure what to do. The client has dementia and is bedridden, but not completely. He can still get up and use his walker to go to the bathroom. He gets kind of angry sometimes. I couldn't get him to get up, and if you let him, he will sleep all day. That can't happen because he is diabetic and needs to eat. She had no idea how to coerce him into getting up.

It helped her for sure. It seems like a waste of time for someone to sit there for 6 hours, while my mother was watching tv. Alvita Care could have improved by being more flexible in their duties. Light housekeeping according to them, as if an aide uses the glass they wash it. For elderly people, home care is a big part of what they need. They are not flexible, you have to do 6 hours at a minimum.

My mother is 90 and set in her ways. She likes to do all the activities and she likes to use the bathroom all the way to her room. My life is better even though I still get annoying calls and I can't do everything. My mother couldn't live without them. I like that when you call them, they call back immediately. We had a problem right at the beginning where they didn't have an aide and they had someone call me back to fix it.

They're always attentive and making me aware of any serious weather to make sure I have enough food and batteries in the event of any kind of emergency. They're always there. If an aide has a situation and can't come, they find somebody else to take their place.
