The staff is timely and thorough in their care in getting him up and dressed in the mornings, taking medications, and with meals. They're all different. You can tell which ones are in it because they enjoy doing PCA work and some of them are in it just for the money. Some of them come in and know what is expected because they have been here several times. They don't need to be reminded. I don't know if some have a lack of motivation that are terrible. Right now, it appears that they have more clients than caregivers. They're not able to fill the spots for clients.

I have many needs and I feel abandoned. The blame has been shifted to me. They could have done everything I listed above, including sending adequately trained people. They have sent me caregivers who are terrified of dogs and I own a dog. I've had caregivers want to come and sit and collect the pay. When I was finally assigned a good caregiver, she was reassigned to another position. If they would have a back up system for shifts covered that would be good. I would like to see them match the caregivers with the needs of the client. Some of the caregivers are juniors in high school. The caregivers need to be paid better, so I understand why they are having trouble staffing.

Synergy HomeCare came through for me when I needed emergency 24-hour coverage for a client on a Friday evening. Mitch came out at 10:00 pm on Friday night to meet with the family. Brooke stayed with me on the phone Friday evening and Saturday morning through all the arranging and details. She continued to be available through the weekend and until care was no longer needed. The client and family were pleased with the caregivers Synergy sent out and Synergy even provided a transfer belt. Synergy was there when I needed them and with the care my client needed. I will definitely be calling them again when I need their help.

My mom is 88 years old, she's wheelchair bound so she can't walk at all. Synergy Home Care offer a 1-hour service every other week, on Saturday and Sunday morning. They did an observation, which is part of the assessment as far as how I take care of my mom and that kind of thing. The diabetes doesn't really factor in because they aren't doing any medication. But she's incontinent, so basically, it's to get her up in the morning and get her in the bathroom and get her dressed for the day and everything. It's going really well, and the reason is because I think we have a good match for the caregiver that's coming and my mom feels comfortable with her. We did have someone initially, the first time we used the service, but it didn't worked out. So I called Synergy Home Care and said it isn't the right match and they sent someone else and it's worked out great. I'm very satisfied at this point. I'm not using the service a lot, but I like having the option if I needed to ask for them to maybe come more often or if I'm in a pinch, I think they would.
