I am a client of Home Instead. We have only had it for about a month now, but I can tell you that it is pretty good. The individual that comes to see my mom is very helpful. My mother has really grown attached to her. At first, we thought my mother wouldn't want anyone coming here. So far, we haven't had a problem with the lady bathing my mother, helping her get around, and doing some stuff for my dad. I would give her a very high rating at this point. So far, we haven't had any issues with it. We are only doing 4 hours a day for three days a week. We were quite content that the prices they were charging were comparable with some of the other facilities that we looked at. This particular facility said they had people who understood dementia and how to care for dementia patients. The individuals that they're sending out are older, so I know they have that experience that we were looking for. They do the bathing, and sometimes they help feed her. When she gets in the mood, she can feed herself. For my dad, they do cleaning. They do the laundry, clean the floors, and help them with some of the household duties. The caregiver is very nice. She is patient and understanding. Our primary concern was that my mother would not be receptive, but she enjoys this lady's company. They have a good relationship, and I think it has only been about a month. The individual has established a good relationship with my mother and my dad.

Flexible with schedule and tries to have consistent staffing. Terrific personnel. Just wish overnight hour costs were discounted from daytime costs. Clearly a difference in level of care/demand.

We were dropped as a client without warning by Home Instead of SW Oakland County, Michigan after three months of once per week (3 hours per visit) of caregiving services. The franchise owner informed me that because housekeeping is not their core service and one day per week is below their weekly minimum requirement (which I was never informed of), they were no longer able to provide caregiving services. No option was given to increase the visits. This leaves me in a difficult position of being without help, and leaves my mother feeling sad and abandoned. Therefore, based upon this experience, I cannot recommend using Home Instead’s services.

Jeanne and her staff are amazing. I live across country from my Mom and they keep me well informed about what is going on with her. Any changes and they give me a call. They are kind and caring and my Mom loves them too. And if you knew my Mom you would know what a compliment that is!

My Uncle was assisted in the most loving and kind ways by Home Instead.. The Owner, Nurse and Caretakers were exceptional. This is not to say that there weren't bumps in the road. In fact, as issues arose, we were attended to immediately and with the utmost care and concern. I highly recommend these wonderful folks. I would use them again without a moments hesitation.
