I am a past client of this provider

My mother, 103 years old was admitted to Gilchrist Hospice, Towson on 1/9/23. She unfortunately passed away on 1/13. My entire family had an excellent experience during Mom's stay. I have rated this facility 5 stars since I did not have an option of rating them 10 out 5 stars!!!! This statement says it all. The facility is extremely clean, well maintained. The entire staff was very caring, courteous and kind. All the nurses, social worker & the Doctor were always there whenever we needed them. We were frequently visited by the staff to provide us comfort and much needed support. To say the least we were fortunate that Mom spent her last few days in the best comforts. Thank you, Gilchrist, for your community services. Best care facility.

Cold/ Unemotional /Heartless /Not Compassionate/We wish everyday that this was not our dads last place on earth. When families are faced with making a decision during a very emotional time it is sad that someone who is to represent them makes you feel if you don't enter in at this time you may have to start over with your home care program Shame on you

Both of my parents and my dear aunt passed with Gilchrist Hospice care. My father and my aunt both died as in-patient residents, at the Towson location; my mother had their care T the nursing home where she was living. We should all be lucky enough to have the compassionate and loving care provided by their staff and volunteers. I always tell people that it’s like dying in heaven. Thank you, Gilchrist!

Gilchrist has provided our family with the most caring and loving experience we could ever imagine. If they didn’t offer the care they provide for both our mom and my family, I don’t know what we would have done. Thank you Gilchrist!!

We were told by the affiliated hospital doctor in preparation for the move to Gilchrist Hospice Center that our loved ones medicines would continue for their stay at Gilchrist. We was also told our loved ones care could be customized.neither of these took place. There was only pain medicine administered. There was no water or food of any type administered even intravenously. She was only drugged up for pain relief and made non-responsive. This is a terrible way to die. Even a healthy person won't live a week without water.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The staff was amazing and always well mannered and professional. The place felt more like a hotel than a nursing home/hospice. Grounds are clean, rooms are clean, smell inside was pleasant, staff very welcoming to family.

It is a comfort knowing we have the support from numerous people at Gilchrist during my dad's final days. Thanks to their support we can take care of him and he is able to spend this time at home. He is comfortable and can have his family by his side 24/7.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I would recommend Gilcrest Assisted Living/Hospice care facility to anyone with a friend or relative in need of care. The facility is beautiful and not at all dreary. It is not, unlike other facilities, antiseptic. There are spacious hallways flanked on either side by ornately decorated, private rooms for residents. In addition, the facility does not impose visiting hours which means family can visit whenever they like, anytime day or night. There is even a common room with birds, a roaring fireplace, and comfortable chairs for one to sit and relax. The staff at the assisted living facility consists of medical professionals, nursing aids well-trained in elder care, and a friendly and helpful administrative office staff. There is even on-site counseling available to friends and family in need of such services. Gilcrest is an exceptional, well-run assisted living establishment that I would recommend to anyone in need of such services.
