My sister and I worked so we couldn't be there for her. The main reason we used them is because my mother was at SilverCrest, and SYNERGY could start services immediately. We had hospice and Synergy both. The Synergy aide was not well trained on how to use a bedpan, with placement and so forth. She should have had more training, in regards to helping the patient use a bedpan. There was some inconsistency with whether the aide could administer pre-dosed medication, or not. They went back and forth on whether they could or couldn't. They need a consistent, well-understood policy.
