While both in-home care and
home health care involve attendants coming into a senior’s home and providing assistance, the
services provided vary between the two. In-home care provides several nonmedical services, such as offering assistance with grooming, light housekeeping and meal planning. Home health care typically involves a licensed medical professional, such as a skilled nurse, certified nursing assistant or licensed therapist providing
light medical services. These may include IV therapies, medication management or wound care. Home health care provides services at home to those who would otherwise require a nursing home admission.
