This company was an extreme disappointment to me, after being very optimistic that they could help me with care for my 84 year old, uncooperative mother. One of the biggest problems I had was communication. After numerous unanswered calls each week, the only one I talked to was the receptionist. I would certainly not recommend this company, and I suggest that you should shop around on-line before you make a decision regarding the help you bring in to help your elderly parents. Though several of the employees were very nice, the competency and professionalism seems to need a lot of improvement. I am very dissatisfied with this company.

We did not need Family First Homecare for too long, but they did fine. I would recommend them. They were very caring, and they tried hard to meet our needs. The only complaint I had -- which was probably partly my fault -- was when they were finished doing what they needed to do, they left even though the time was not up. I was charged for two hours even though they left a half hour early. I did not know they were going to do that. If I had known, I would have found other things for them to do.

The people of Family First that come into the home are very qualified. They are very responsible, they show up on time, and they let me know if they’re going to be late. I have the same person that comes each time, but if there is a change in schedule, they let me know.

As a retired RN with 15 years case manager experience I need to relate to all what a good company this is. From the first interview with Doug and Kassandra to meeting with the actual caregiver who takes care of my dad. All was very professional. They delivered the care I wanted and did it very well. These people take great care of my beloved father. That makes they very important to me. Thanks to you all.

About Family First Home Care in Sarasota, Florida
Nothing is more important than family. Our family is there to strengthen us through trials, celebrate with us in the good times and stick with us through the rough patches. When a member of our family loses some or all of the ability to help themselves, we want to do our best to allow them to live life on their terms and allow them the most independence possible. Every situation is different, and every person has unique needs, but no matter what challenges your loved one may be facing, Family First Home Care can help you determine the best course of care that offers the optimum level of independence for your loved one. Quality care comes from quality caregivers and we know our clients want to see familiar faces, caregivers they recognize and know they can trust. Our employees are full time employees (not contractors) who are licensed, bonded and insured. They are subject to five background checks, go through personality and skills assessment s and must have at least two years of homecare experience. Family First will only hire the "best of the best" in homecare and this quality trickles down to the highest quality of care provided continuously by the same caregivers.
Family First Homecare is a locally owned private duty nursing company specializing in providing long term solutions to individuals needing care in the privacy and comfort of their own home. As Medicare is limited in coverage of home health services extending beyond nursing visits and therapy we offer solutions to families needing care that requires nurses and/or home health aides for hours at a time. These services are traditionally paid for privately and may also be covered through our partnerships with long term insurance companies, worker’s compensation and private insurance.
