Some caregivers have not been a good match. I had one caregiver call me and ask me if it was okay to change the schedule and I said yes, and then they told the office that I had requested that it be changed. One caregiver went out with my dad to the store and met the handy man there, and the handyman stole my dads pin for his card. The caregiver did not let me know that information when we were trying to get a police report going and get things resolved. The caregivers need to be there for my dads physical and emotion wellbeing. The caregiver just gave really bad advice to my dad. She was nice in my home and liked her, but she was lying to me. I don't like that when someone is not coming, there is last minute notice. I don't like that they don't have one or two people coming instead of having many people in my home. Furthermore, I want to have 1 or 2 people and not several.

My level of disability is such that even while doing as much as I can, I can't keep up with everything. She's able to do those things that I can't do that allow me to have a normal living environment. They're really consistent. I'm a disabled veteran and before this agency, I had a lot of other agencies and I would go weeks without service or they wouldn't do a good job. With Home Helpers I always have the same girl and she's always been consistent.

When we needed someone other than the regular person, the substitutes they sent were mediocre or poor, or they wouldn't show up at all. My husband no longer receives services, but I wouldn't recommend Home Helpers because of the unreliability of their substitutions.
