I have been a client of Bluestar of Loveland for almost a year. Their care givers are good people trying to do a good job in a difficult business. The care givers could use training on some simple tasks, ie: making a bed, how to turn clothing right side out before folding and putting away. The office staff is terrible. They totally lack in communication skills and refuse to take action to improve. Example: I was notified last week that my care giver had Covid so I would not have coverage that day. On my own I contacted the caregiver to see if I should be concerned as she had been at my home the Friday before. She said “no, she contacted the desease after seeing me” but she had asked them to inform me of this fact so I would not be concerned. They did not do that. Today Monday I was to have coverage at 1:00 PM. It is now 2:00 PM, no one showed up and I have not been notified that I would not have coverage today. I have discussed this lack of communication’s with the staff and they could not care less as nothing is ever done to improve on their part. If it weren’t for the quality of their care givers I would change service organizations. It is only the office staff that does a very poor job.

I began looking into homecare before my husband was released from the hospital. I found several qualified facilities. I selected BrightStar. Char stayed in contact with me while we were still in the rehabilitation clinic. Just to let me know they were thinking of me and to offer encouragement. Barbara their RN was efficient and detailed. Even though I was talking too much, she understood my mindset and accommodated me. I had my first CNA caregiver come to take care of my husband. I was blown out of the water. Sophie is professional, efficient, and caring. She took great care of my husband and saw to my needs as well. I called the company immediately and spoke with Uilani. I told her how outstanding Sophie is and thanked her for sending the correct match for me. Patricia helps me in the evenings. She can handle my husband’s moods at night. He gets frustrated at night. Pat can settle him down so he can sleep. They discuss sports to weather. Patricia is amazing. Thank you, BrightStar for attention to detail and qualified staff.

They could have been on time and had the same person pick me up after surgery as they were supposed to. The person they sent was lost, so they were late. I shouldn't have gone up and down the stairs, but I had to to keep answering the door. They were late and kept changing personnel on me.

For our class, we were at an impasse because we needed someone who would provide us help with the insurance and paperwork, and they do that for us. I recommend them to other classes because they have worked out well with us. They have been very accommodating to our needs and have developed a good relationship with us when we call.

They got me out of bed, that was helpful. One caregiver didn't stay long. She came, did her job, and then left. It is partly my fault as they had asked if there was more they could do, but I didn't know what to say.

I cannot physically do the heavy cleaning and they really helped me with that. It depends on the one who comes to my place. I think my caregiver is just excellent with taking care of me. Some of them were good, and some were not. They need consistency. If they assign one person, they need to keep them coming so a person with Alzheimer's gets used to them coming. They needed consistency with the people that were coming. Every time I turned around, a new person was coming.

They need better communication within themselves. They don't seem to know what's going on within the office. They need to train their caregivers a little better. They make sure my loved one has a nutritious meal and is monitored for safety. This removes stress for me, when I'm at work. I think retaining employees would be nice because there seems to be a lot of turnover. I'd also like them to fill absences, when a caregiver has to miss a shift.

The caregiver has done a good job interacting with dad and not being pushy or overbearing in any way. She has done a good job blending in with the family and the way we are. She is unobtrusive. They need to get their act together. It's a professional company. I called them two different times and wanted them to come out to the house back in November. I called and didn't get any response back. They said that they were working on somebody, and I had to call back. They had finally got somebody. I am just not happy with the company. We've had some good caregivers, but they don't last long. Somebody really gets familiar with what needs to be done, then they're gone in a month or two. It has nothing to do with the care and attention that the RN and all of the CNA's did for my loed one, but I got a call from an administrator a day or so before my loved one was discharged from the hospital explaining that she had been out of service with BrightStar Care for so long that she would need to be put at the end of the line. That came on December 22, just before the holiday weekend without prior notice. All of the plans we made were severely disrupted. The administrator was very cut and dry and didn't want to discuss any other options. I think that is significantly wrong and at risk with that kind of operation. The CNAs were there 24/7 for weeks. They did a good job of communicating one shift to another what needed to happen.
