It was a situation where my step father had passed away and I had no choice but to leave my father and go help my mom. It was a last minute situation, and they came through beautifully. I also needed to leave for one night, and it was a good experience with good people again. I'm very happy. The caregivers were very competent and friendly.

We hired Home Helpers. They were very good, so I was very pleased with them. I used them for my husband. I just liked the discussion I had with the owner of the company. We had 24-hour live-in care. Their caregivers were very good.

He was in a lot of pain before he died. I cannot believe what he went through before he died. I felt terrible because I couldn't do anything for him. We had to ask too many times about the bath. He died shortly after starting the services. The bed was too high for him, so he fell off of it several times. My daughter tried to tell the doctor to lower the bed, but no one would.

There are certain things that the caregiver can't do. My loved one is bed ridden right now and very irritable. The office is really responsive, friendly, and they get things done.

We've had difficulty with people not showing up. My wife has dizzy spells and anxiety attacks, so she can't walk alone. She needs someone to help her balance. Without that I would have to be with her all of the time. With the caregiver here, I can go grocery shopping or to doctor appointment. Usually the caregiver we have is excellent. She is reliable and does what needs to be done.

I think they could take it upon themselves to do more things to help. I have gone through so many caregivers at so many agencies. If we need a replacement, it is hard for them sometimes to come for the four hours. I think the caregivers should not be allowed to bring their phones to the homes. They have come here and used our laundries and have asked for money. Another caregiver would cook their personal food at the house. They weren't paying attention to my aunt, but Home Helpers has a better quality of people. Home helpers is wonderful and we got lucky.

The drivers are polite and know where they're going because they're local. They need to replace the dispatcher because she does not answer her phone. I have told her twice that If I don't get a response within 24 hours I would contact the drivers directly for answers.

The caregiver helped me with things that I couldn't do like change the bedding. They told me I could get four hours of service but I didn't need help for that long. Home Helpers was supposed to help me physically but I didn't need much. I needed more help around the house.

My husband had a knee replacement and I had brought him home in less than a day after the surgery. Just about everything that could go wrong, went wrong, so I had to take him to the emergency room. He was in the hospital for about a week and I was there with him so I was really drained and upset. I couldn't get any help from the discharge planners. They gave me names of agencies to call for help at home, but they didn't tell me how I would pay for it. And every agency I called didn't serve the coast side where we live. One of the agencies called me back and gave me Peggy's name. I called her and she just took it from there! She came out and she was wonderful and really knowledgeable. She knew that if we had a long term care policy, it would likely cover it. We didn't have to do anything but fill out 2 documents and she handled the rest. It was like a miracle because I had no idea what to do! Peggy knew exactly what to do. And the aide she gave us turned out having an LVN license, which was a real plus. She really got my husband through his recovery. She was really knowledgeable and had very close communication with Peggy all along. They keep really good notes. I felt that the communication was really good all the way around. It was a miracle she was there. She knows a lot! Another thing is that she was available 24/7. If we had an emergency situation, we could call her and she'd be right on the phone. When you're the only family member there to take care of somebody who is really sick, having someone like Peggy is just incredible.
