They start off ok. But then the night staff is lazy, never answered the phones when my father was there, don’t keep you up to date with the care of your family member unless they’re there for short term.. my father ended up getting a septic infection because of a wound that they claim they would care for and never did and when he was sent out staff never contacted any of his emergency contacts.. we found out he was passing when the hospital informed us they was trying to resuscitate him.. please check on your family members often and do keep name of every worker you speak with.

The rooms at Hamlin Place are small, but the cleanliness seems to be alright. Some of the staff are very caring, others seem to be more indifferent. My mom is there and they have some activities for them. They have live music at least once a week and movie day with popcorn. They also have a beauty salon where a person can make appointments. My sister tasted the food and she thought it was good.

I have enjoyed interacting with the staff and the other residents at hamlin place. It became a second family. The food was great and the service is like being in a 5 star restaurant. The staff learned by name quickly and were very involved in my care. The therapy department was instrumental in getting me back on my feet. Mike's sense of humor was great. My overall experience was great. Would recommend highly.

I was at Hamlin Place for 36 weeks recovering from a fall with fractured pelvis and L1,L2 back bones. I had to wear a back brace that prohibited me from doing a lot of things for myself let alone had to learn how to walk and climb stairs. The nurses and aids were wonderful and helped me with all my needs. I cannot say enough about the Physical Therapy I received. Jennifer and her PT gang were great, Always cheerful and patient. I was there at the beginning of Covid, my room was cleaned daily and the PT department was constantly being cleaned. The food was very good and the portion were very generous, more than I could eat. My sister is presently a long term resident at Hamlin and is very happy there.

I lived at Hamlin place for over a year and half. From start to finish i found Hamlin to be a place i would highly recommend. The food was great. The people there were like family. They checked us every monday for covid-19. And also checked the help. I felt quite safe during my whole stay. In as far as the nurses all great . nurse in the am Anis great.nurse Ostanie we called her Nurse O she was the most professional and thorough nurse. Jennifer from physical therapy and her staff were the best now these people deserve more then just a shout. They were each and every one dedicated and so professional. They are the best. Lisa on food and nutrition great !! I can't recommend this place higher . Ellen the manager helped me when i needed help to see my out of town friend. Which was great . i would like a special yell out for Jennifer as she is a angel and has earned her wings. She has always helped everyone who needed help . she is so special beyond the call of duty. Now for the aids there is a job that is not easy but i have to mention a few Rosemarie Eugena they are extra special in my eyes as all of these angels we great those two were extra special as i did deal with them more. Now if you need a nursing home or rehab i rate this one A+. I left this only to move in with my friend od 55 years. However i did appriciate the care and professionals at Hamlin Place. Oh before i close i couldn't forget to mention patty and katlin in activities great job guys even through the pandemic. Hector who saved me at least a few times and Alejandro the night nurse the best go to nurses . Shout out to Dr Gorsh . Well more people im sure if i left you out I apologize as you all were special. Ops! Maria at the front desk and Yarmulette. Oh and i don't want to forget Marie for our drop dead hair do's and my little kitchen Angel my Jamaican momma who always made sure my grits were hot and i got my favorite corn beef hash. Jennifer thank you. Just to let you be the judge of where you want your loved one to go. Here's the place. No nursing home is like home but this is one place I highly recommend my friendships will be with me forever. Thanking you all ! You are all in my prayers everyday. And like i said if you were not mentioned by name you are in my prayers forever and you are still very special.

Dear Sir/ Madam, I would like to thank the staff of Hamlin Place Boynton Beach for their care for me during my 7 – 8 months stay in their facility. Although, there were a few hiccups along the way. I encountered some great employees, (from the administration, cafeteria, Nurses and CNA’s). The physical therapy was par-excellence and the therapist worked hard to get me to walk (with help) and meet some basic needs for myself. Although I have a long way to go, I can truly say I would not have made it this far without the help from Hamlin Place. Once again, I say thank you and may God richly bless you. Ms. Josette O. Rey

Screen name: cjd65 Relationship: I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident Content: My dad spent 3 weeks at Hamlin Place for a broken hip. I will never send another love one there again. Horrible experience! Dirty rooms and terrible smell through out the facility. Some of the staff are rude and when dad would ask them a question or for help they seemed bothered or never came when he called them. Upon dad being discharged I was told that the social worker there would help us place him in an assistant living facility. Another joke I scrambled getting dad set up in his new place without any help.

I spent 17 days in physical rehab from a full hip replacement. after a few early medication hiccups, I can truly rave the PT/OT staff as First rate. Generally speaking, from nursing, to aides, to RNs in training, the care was excellent.

My husband is presently in the Hamlin as we speak, I am so upset beyond words. He was placed there with pneumonia and an infection of the scrotum and just had surgery on his Femur broken in 3 places, plus a broken knee replacement, so as you see he is at everyone's mercy. First, he sat in a dirty diaper for close to 6 hours, no one came.........I arrived last evening and he had a dirty diaper again, approached the nurses station and asked for assistance, waited 25 minutes, returned to the nurses station again, now the CNA in charged came in and said I already changed him at 6PM, I said well he is dirty and it's 7:45 PM, so that makes a difference. The CNA collected the garbage and never returned. therefore I changed his bedding and diaper, explained he had an infection oozing out of his leg and apparently nothing was done, till I returned the next morning. He is in excruciating pain, I removed his diaper and now the scrotum is bleeding, and they finally but dressing on the stitched area which was leaking and finally took a culture. This man has diabetes, RA, 5 surgeries in 2 years and fractured disc in his back. The rooms are so small and not clean, this place has no pride at all, he is due for surgery in a few months and will not be returning here. No respect or regard for the patience.

My mother spent 3 weeks there with a fractured shoulder. She could walk fine when she got there. I visited every day to find her sitting in a wheelchair. She said the staff was ruff and would hurt her shoulder dressing and cleaning. Her. Not very educated on how to move her. Food was cold and wouldnt eat. I had to bring her food from home. Lost over 20 lbs there. Took forever to get her on her meds. Said they had no orders. Never saw her Dr. Only had an answering servive that never called back. Could never get her on phone because it was always out of reach of her good arm. No real answers from staff always too busy doing other things to give answers. 300 bed facility had 1 case worker and 2 RNS on staff...very under staffed good luck getting someone by phone. Sent her home said she needed help dressing and toileting. She got discharged and could barely stand to get in the car. The cna couldn't get her in I had to. Got her home she could hardly stand and not walking on her own anymore. Very weak. They didnt tell me she was now in diapers. Sent me none home. No info on how to order from insurance. I needed pads to put under her , gloves etc. They told me nothing sent nothing home. Im not equipped for this and am not skilled at moving her and getting her to walk. Her insurance ran out they sent her home. She needed to walk every day to keep her legs working and now she is close to an invalid. Before she fell and fractured her shoulder she lived on her own at 92 and got around just fine. Now im looking into sending hef back to yet another facility for their incompetence. This place has terrible care i would never recommend it.

I chose this facility after having a very bad experience with another facility. I am so glad we did. They have a great staff, especially in rehab. They got my mom walking again and she is back to her ALF. I can not say enough about the staff at Hamlin.

Not quite sure? A loved one is in rehabilitation at Hamlin. So far I am not feeling impressed or comfortable with the assistance on the phone at all! They do not return phone calls. When you call to ask questions the staff does not give real documented information very general. . It seems as though the staff are more involved with what they are personally doing. Ive called and received can you call me back I'm busy or leaving the building. My very first call after my parent was transferred there was rood who are you what do you want. Calling physical therapy I got I don't know I wasn't working with your parent the staff has left. Transferring you around voice mail to voice mail and gets you no where. When you call many times before transferring you hear the staff joking and laughing about their personal biz. I don't know not real impressed so far? And with respect there a have been a few quality people but mostly not professional.

I have had family members in many nursing facilities throughout Palm Beach County. I believe Hamlin to be cleaner and more efficiently run than most. It is your job to ask questions and look out for a loved one that may not be capable. I was able to meet with the director immediately and let her know my wishes. My mother received outstanding care in a clean safe environment.

I didn't like Hamlin Place. It wasn't clean, and the staff was not educated. It wasn't a good experience. The rooms were dirty -- it was awful. They lost my mother's clothes, and just the whole thing was not good at all. I don't even remember taking her to an activity there. The majority of the food wasn't good; we ended up just bringing food in. Their staffing needed to be educated or speak more English.

The Hamlin is terrible. They just let people sit aronud, but it used to be good a couple of years ago. They were good with my mother here. They were short staffed, they make the room that she is at look good, and I think its OK. They did not have the manpower; there are bugs in the bathroom and the floors. They just would leave here there for hours.

When the doctor evaluated my mom, she said that she needed a nursing facility, so she went to Hamlin Place of Boynton Beach and they really did such a wonderful job. She is now walking with a walker again. The staff are very caring. Mom loves the food there, and she has progressed very well. This is the first place that I have seen her progress in instead of going downhill. She has a room like a hospital room, nothing fancy. When we were there, they had an entertainer who was playing the keyboard. He gave all the residents drums and drumsticks and he sang great.

My relative is in the rehabilitation part of Hamlin Place. It was first picked by the hospital, and we just went with it. They are very good as far as I can tell; however, some of the staff there is not trained. A lot of them really don't know what they're doing. My relative is in a room right now that is supposed to be for two people, but there is nobody in there right now. However, if there were two people in there, it would be kind of small. They have plenty of activities, but he doesn’t get involved in them because he is in hospice care right now. Their food, it's not the best, but it is food. They are well prepared there.

I had my mother there for rehab. My mother was confused and would not stay in her bed or room. The put an alarm that clipped to her clothes however one of the first nights she was able to get out of bed, the alarm went off, yet she was able to make it through the maze of a building and find her way out of the building! My mother does not move fast due to a bad ankle. So how she made it out of the building while a loud alarm was going off leads me to believe that whoever was working that night was either out back smoking or sleeping somewhere where they could not hear that alarm. They are also slow to come when called with the gray button. Also they were not giving my mom all her meds. When asked why, they had some lame answer about no orders from the doctor yet when I came in the next day, my mother was given all her meds! My mother was also suppose to have PT and OT twice a day. She was there for 5 days and got it once! You must keep up on everything. Ask questions and make them give you answers. Follow up on behalf of your love one or they will suffer!
