My father was at Woodlands Creek Retirement Community. He was in a two-bedroom independent apartment. The apartments were completely redone between residents, so everything was new and fresh. It was set up wonderfully. Their fees were reasonable, and the family feel was evident. They had different layouts. They offered all kinds of activities going on throughout the day. There's underground parking and transportation to various things if needed. The interaction with the staff was wonderful. Really good. They provide breakfast and lunch, and it was very good.

Woodlands Creek is an exceptional retirement community! My parents chose to retire here and lived many years in the Independent Living Apartments before moving to Assisted Living. Later, my sister needed more help and moved directly into the Assisted Living Apartments where she received excellent care in a loving atmosphere. When it was time for my mother-in-law to move closer to family, we toured several retirement communities. We were excited when she chose Woodlands Creek also. She is able to enjoy a beautiful apartment within a meticulously maintained building. She looks forward to delicious meals and fun activities with great new friends. We don't need to worry about her. We know staff is there to support residents and there is security 24 hours a day in case of emergencies. A part time nurse supports residents and serves as wellness coordinator. She can relax and enjoy life and we can also, knowing she is safe and happy. We are so grateful to have Woodlands Creek Senior Retirement Community in the Des Moines area!

I went to Woodlands Creek Retirement Community. The price was median; it wasn't the lowest, and it wasn't the highest there. It was a nice, medium facility. It had transportation for the residents. It also had a memory care unit. Everything was nice. It was in a quiet neighborhood. The meal area seemed fine with three meals a day. The only drawback on that is the activities room. It was away from the main hall, and kind of a small, isolated area. It didn't seem like they had many of the activities as some of the other places. The staff was very friendly and very willing to help. Everybody was very cordial. The rooms for the money were a nice size. The community fee they have is a one time fee; it's a flat fee, plus like a dollar fifty per square foot (depending on what room you're going to be in). The level of care is on a point system, which the point system seems a bit high on. There are pros and cons to it, but it's not for us. Even though the room was a decent value, my parents personally needed a little bit more than what they had to offer there. The place was clean.

My mom started out in independent living, moved to assisted and finally memory care all while at Woodlands. At each level we found the staff to be very caring. There was always excellent communication. The community offers several actives in all areas. They offer assisted outings, gardening activities as well as art activities. My sisters and I could not be more satisfied with our mom's care while at Woodlands. My dad is now a resident in assisted living. We consider the staff at Woodlands family. Thank you for all you do!

We had a very positive tour experience at Woodlands Creek Retirement Community. They encouraged me to come back more than once, which I did, and they made it possible for me and two of my friends to have lunch there. The facility is very well run and well managed. The follow-up has been great. They've reached out to me several times by phone and encouraged me to come back any time and I actually liked one of the apartments enough to put my name down as a possibility, but the availability of that particular unit was so fast that I wasn't able to take it.

Our mother fell and broke her hip while at Woodlands. No explanation of how this occurred was offered. Not once while she was in the hospital or rehab did anyone there ask about her welfare. Once we determined that she would move elsewhere, staff at Woodlands began calling and acted concerned about her care but then became aloof when our decision was made, especially Kevin. They love you while you’re paying 6000+ per month but lose interest once the money goes away.

My parents moved to Woodlands Creek Retirement Community. I liked them the most because they were so accommodating, and the atmosphere is just very relaxed, warm, and friendly. The staff is very helpful and the director of nursing, Kevin, couldn't have been better. Just as my mom said in her review, "How can you improve on perfection?" is what she wrote about her moving experience. It's fantastic. It's very, very accommodating to my parents and their various needs. So far, it's only been a few days, but we have a very good feeling about it. It's very clean, very comfortable, and very bright and cheery. I think the location is great. It's back in the wooded area, it's not on a busy street and it overlooks a nice park. I just think it's nice. They've been very accommodating, clean, and very helpful. In terms of the food, I had one meal there and my dad doesn't complain about anything. And he cleans his plate. The value is also excellent.

We liked Woodlands Creek very much. When we toured it the staff was very helpful. We liked her. She took a long time talking to us and answered all our questions. The room was very nice and very clean. There were a few rooms that we could see because of the virus. We couldn't go in to any that had people in it. The facility was very nice, very clean, and very well-kept.

Woodlands Creek was very nice. It was everything that we were looking for. They had openings available when we visited and they are great to work with. The staff member was very friendly and willing to help out with whatever we needed. They go on trips and some of the residents were doing puzzles, talking, and gathering during our visit. The one-bedroom was great, the living room was a good size, the kitchen was just right, and the closets were amazing. We're really pleased. The dining area was wide open and bright, and it's somewhere that my parents are going to enjoy eating. They were fixing up a couple areas the second time we came, and it's going to be great.

Woodlands Creek is a very nice place. My sister has moved into this community. The rooms are very clean. They have all kinds of things like bingo, trips, games, and movies. I had a couple of meals with them, and they were very good. There is an exercise room, and they have group activity exercises, too. For my sister, it is independent living. It is a very nice place even though my sister hasn't been there that long.

We toured the independent living of Woodlands Creek. It was by far the best one we went to. The thing we liked about it was it's kind of in a rural setting with a creek running by, and trees, and it wasn't very crowded. There were a lot of grounds to walk on and there's a recreational area right next door. The grounds include a pond, and it's a very pleasant setting. We're very pleased with the whole setup. The people who gave us the tour and talked to us about the terms and deposits have all been very nice. They served us lunch, which was really quite good. The dining area was pleasant, and they had a table that's obviously for newbies since it's kind of set off to the side. We were sitting there and people came by to introduce themselves. They were very friendly, and that was a nice touch.

After touring a number of assisted facilities, we choose Silvercrest (Woodlands Creek) because the atmosphere and staff made us feel like "home". During our mother's stay, I have nothing but the highest regards for the way the staff treated her.

Quality was great from care to atmosphere to activities, etc. The only negative thing was the food. The food is not the best.

We could not be more pleased with the care our mother received for two and a half years at Woodlands Creek (formerly Silvercrest). The staff was very caring and kind to all residents. Staff turnover is minimal which really allows them to build strong relationships with their residents. We were very blessed to find such a great place for our mother.

Our mom was a resident for 11 years. She was always happy there and loved all who cared for her. She lived in independent living. The apartment was spacious and bright with many windows.

My parents were residents at Silver Crest Assisted Living facility until it was determined that my father required a higher level of care. This place is “top-notch” on all accounts. Director of health services (Kevin) is the best, and nursing staff is excellent. CNA’s are caring and lovingly provide for needs of daily living. Plenty of well planned activities, Apartments are specious, housekeeping/laundry is provided and there is a beauty shop on site. The facility and campus are beautiful! I can’t say enough good things about Silver Crest. Do check them out!

We visited Woodlands Creek. It was beautiful and very clean. We were led by the coordinator, and she showed us all around. The people we met in the hallways and such were very cordial. The residents seemed really happy. We did talk to a man who lived there, and he encouraged us to consider it. The dining area at Woodlands was a big open space with many tables. While we sitting there in the morning, we saw them setting up for lunch, and it looked like the people working for them were doing a good job.

Caring is the predominate characteristic that we experienced during the 2 years my mother was a resident at Woodlands Creek. This caring philosophy was obvious in the interactions my mother and my family had with all the staff members regardless of their department: nursing, dietary, activities, housekeeping, administration, maintenance. We experienced this care in both Independent living and Assisted Living. In the last few months of my mother's life, the Woodlands Creek staff worked collaboratively with the hospice staff from an outside agency to keep my mother comfortable and ensure that she had a peaceful death. Our journey through my mother's time at Woodlands Creek was easier because of a knowledgeable, professional, and caring staff. They put the resident and family first.

Our Dear Mother, Marcella, was a resident at this facility for 4 years. We moved her from WI to IA and it was a difficult move. The friends/family she met at Woodlands Creek made it an extremely easy move for her. She loved the staff as well as the food and activities at this facility. Our family will never forget this beautiful facility and the employees that were always there for her. My family highly recommends it.

It's a wonderful place to live. We live in the Independent living and we can be as busy as we want. Bible Study, Bridge, Games of all kinds. Our own Nurse Mary. .A Wonderful Chef and staff with great servers, some one commented that it was just like going on a cruse and I believe that's about what you feel like... A marvelous staff that makes you feel like they would do anything you wanted them to... Never have a feeling that we aren't secure with 24 hour security people on duty. What more can I say. We are so happy we made this move 3+ years ago...

Woodlands Creek is affordable, mom has a friend there, and she is more familiar with it. They accept pets. The staff was fine. Everyone looked very nice. The activities were similar as the other places. She wanted to be closer to where the activities are.

Woodlands Creek was the best that I found in the area. I liked the environment. The rooms were good. They had a lot of activities in the afternoon, and they had bridge there almost every day. The dining area was like a ski lodge in Colorado. It had big wooden beams. It was large and airy. The furniture were very good. One of the rooms that I looked at, which she called the deluxe, was very light, very airy, and it was probably the nicest one I had been in. The only thing that would rate it down was that their program was an a la carte system. Their services went by points. If you needed assistance in laying out your medicines, that's 2 points. If you needed help in the shower, it's 10 points. Their meal was also a point system. Breakfast was 5 points, supper was 5 points, and dinner was 10 points. With your monthly rent, you would be given 310, which would mean 10 a day. They were cumulative within the month; if you don't use you points within the month, you couldn't carry them over.

I like the staff at Woodlands Creek. They seem very nice and really care about the residents. They go above and beyond what is required of them. The rooms are big, clean, and nice. I ate there once, and they have very good food. My mother participates usually about twice a day in activities. I am very satisfied with what they provide.
