I would like to express my appreciation to the caregivers at new Horizon Care Center who attended to my mother for many years. They knew her, understood her needs, and were consistently attentive and caring. The facility is clean, well-staffed, and quiet with appropriate activities for residents.

Over the years several of my elderly family members have been placed into the care of New Horizons Care Center in Lovell, Wy. I have visited all of them while they were there and have very mixed feelings on the care that they were receiving during their stay. The facility is very clean and the food is moderately good for a hospital. It is not over crowded and the residents have lots of space in their own rooms and about the entire center. My concerns often lie with who is employed there at times. Some of the employees I have witnessed ignoring patients and residents, rushing through their daily orders, or handling some of the elderly patients in a rough manner. Not only have I had family members reside in this facility but i also delivered meals to the staff through my job. Upon one of the deliveries I witnessed an employee shove an elderly man in a wheel chair across the room away from the code locked door he was near in order to come out and get his delivered food. I was appalled at how the man in the wheel chair was treated for simply sitting next to the door. While my great grandpa was staying there, at times it felt like he may have been placed in front of a TV in the lobby and just left there. Often we would find him sleeping in his wheelchair in the lobby, slouched in a position that did not look comfortable. There are many people that are working there that I believe are truly kind hearted people that care for all their patients and give them the care they would a member of their own family. On the other hand I feel that there are many people working there that see it only as a pay check and don't put forth the efforts to properly care for the people that are residing at such a place.
