My sister is all settled in at Hearthstone by Fairhaven and it seems to be working out OK. It's about a 30-minute trip from where I'm living. We have friends that have been living there for 17 years, so we knew it had a very good reputation. She is now in their memory care, which seems to be serving her quite well. She has had some outbursts and combativeness, and they've been very tolerant in working with it. It's a nice atmosphere. She complains that they're all mean, but that comes with the territory. I haven't really seen anything happen that would want me to have her leave there. They don't do many activities with the people, and that's my only complaint. She might be happier if she had more stimulation. It's overall a very nice place. My sister has a tendency to fall, and they seem to be really careful in keeping an eye on her when she's walking. Overall, we're satisfied with everything. She has access to the building that has the apartments and the assisted living. She likes the food, and if she wants to go and eat in their dining room, she can do that without any problem. She can go any place in the main building for anything. For what she gets, it's more economical than other places. Initially when we walked through Fairhaven into the main part of the building where she was for a while, there were people in there down by the dining room, in their lounge area, and in the smaller lounges. Each floor has its own lounges. Every week, they have tea and things going on in the afternoon down in the main lodge, so that you could get to meet other people.

I am very impressed with Fairhaven. They seemed to offer everything anybody could want. The place was very clean and well maintained. The people were extremely nice, and the food was very good. They are in the process of renovating, which is very good. They had a myriad of activities. They are right next door to the University in Wisconsin Whitewater and there’s a lot of things going on there for residents. There were regular bingo games and trips.

I have found Fairhaven Senior Services and I have signed up. It has been very good. I will be moving in in December because they’re building a duplex for me. They had the stand alone duplexes, and I like that. The people there are very good. I was very satisfied. I like the nursing staff, and I like the atmosphere. It’s the highest in my estimation. I’ve seriously looked at four others, and this is the one I chose. I would say it’s very good. Probably the biggest reason I preferred Fairhaven was because of the possibility to live in a villa and not have to move into an apartment. I’m just not an apartment type of person, so it’s a personal preference. Fairhaven was a little bit better kept up than either of the other two places. It is better for the continuing care part. That was very important to me.

This was the worst place ever they had no idea how to take care my family member so at 10;00 at night I got made and took my father to the hospital and they shipped him to Madison.they had no idea what the were doing . he spent 3 weaks there Nerver took him back. and I,m glad because he is still alive today because we took him out of fairhaven.If he would of been there any longer he would not be here today the hospital said the same thing.

The staff at Fairhaven took wonderful care of my father when he was at the end of this life. THey also took good care of the family. They even let my sister's dog visit!
