About Howard Village Senior Living in Saint Francis, Wisconsin

Not surprisingly, many people at Howard Village in St. Francis come from the communities on Milwaukees South Shore. They've chosen to stay in the area where theyve worked, raised their families and maintained their close friends. Youll find neighbors who want to stay involved. People attend art class, try Tai Chi or yoga, and play penny poker a few times a week. Theres Wii bowling, a book club, card groups, themed parties and special events. And residents families are very involved and are an important part of the social fabric of Howard Village Senior Living. There is always something to do, and someone to do it with.

Howard Village Senior Living is a community of people dedicated to helping you stay healthy, active and engaged so you can truly enjoy this time of life. Everyone who works here has one thing in common: an appreciation and respect for older adults. Youll see it in the friendly smiles, the genuine interest in stories from the past and the way our staff relates to everyone who lives here.

The offerings at Howard Village Senior Living match the diverse make-up of those who live here. People are as active as they want to be. Every month there is a full calendar of social and educational opportunities offered to residents.

In our communities, seniors do not merely reside. They thrive. Thats because ensuring their good health and helping them stay active and engaged isnt merely part of a mission statement that hangs on a wall, its part of our daily routine. And our full-time Lifestyle Director monitors the number and types of programs at Howard Village Senior Living monthly to ensure that a balance of social, wellness, creative, educational and spiritual activities are scheduled.

Here are a just a few examples of Howard Village Senior Living activities:

Social

Join a card club, the group that follows horse racing or play bingo. Plan to stop at the Friday night music or Sundays matinee. Join the Co-ed Breakfast, play Mind Stretchers and make sure to check the calendar to see what shopping and sightseeing trips are coming up. Attend a sing along, the monthly birthday party and dont miss the fresh baked cookie sale. Theres something to do every single day.

Health & Wellness

Start the day with exercise class, or try Tai Chi or yoga. The South Shore Striders gets everyone moving and doubles as a social club. Build strength and endurance with Wii bowling while you play for a league trophy. Try NIA, a body-mind-spirit exercise that uses 52 basic moves, borrowed from dance and the martial arts. Or join the arthritis exercise group, Wake Up & Move. Get a therapeutic massage from our in-house massage therapist and don't forget to connect with our Chiropractor, Dr. Chris Dwyer, of Lakeside Chiropractic. Attend a program on managing chronic disease, monthly wellness lectures with ProHealth, or get your blood pressure checked during a scheduled wellness clinic. And enjoy healthy and tasty dining daily, with choices at every meal, prepared onsite by highly trained chefs. We offer tangible ways to live healthier.

Creative and Educational

Try Watercolor Works, join the weekly music hour, or start Saturdays with books from the St. Francis Library. Learn new crafts or sign up for a Life Long Learning class on Music of the Ages. After dinner, try a travelogue on Mark Twains America, or one of the other weekly topics. Many people living at Howard Village have tried new hobbies or learned about things they just never seemed to have time to try before. Its easy to stay active and involved.

Spiritual

Continue to attend your own congregation or come to weekly Lutheran Services, or Catholic Mass and Communion. Priests and Ministers from the area offer services right at Howard Village. The Rosary is offered weekly. Join a group that volunteers to make holiday cards at Christmas and Easter to send to troops serving overseas. Take part in Bible study or consider attending a program that explores World Religions or join a faith and fellowship group. There are many opportunities to remain spiritually nourished. Howard Village is open to all faiths.
