Friendly Village Nursing & Rehab Center was very caring, respectful, and very accommodating. They were very thorough in making sure my father's needs were met, which included getting physical therapy set up, occupational therapy set up, and the rehabilitation organizations set up, even before he had arrived. So, that took a lot of stress off of us. They were all prepared for his arrival. It was the second time my dad was there for rehab. He had originally been discharged about a year ago, went to rehabilitation there, got improved, completed rehabilitation, and then moved down to the Madison, Wisconsin area to an assisted living facility. Then while he was down there, he ended up returning to the hospital and needing rehab after his hospital visit. So, we had him brought back to Friendly Village Nursing & Rehab Center.

I would NEVER recommend this nursing home to anybody! My Grandma had been here for 4 day before passing away. The staff seemed to have no compassion or care towards the residents. My Grandma would be left screaming ‘someone please help me’ and crying in pain in her room and no staff member would even check on her. When visiting I could hear her down the hall as I walked in and rush to her room in panic. The staff told us she was doing that all morning but no staff even bothered to call any family members (several came daily for visits) This is the worse thing you’d want for your loved one, or how you want them treated in their last few days before passing. It took several painful hours for her to pass and my family kept being told ‘this is normal and to be expected’ with zero compassion. Also the facility doesn’t seem bad when you first walk in but as soon as you start down a hallway the smells were almost unbearable. The dresser drawers wouldn’t close in her room and her tv did not work. So if family was not visiting she was in a quiet empty room alone. At $9,000 dollars per month this is the last thing I’d expected. After checking in my family started looking for a different facility for my grandma since it was clear the staff and facility was not good for her but this was her only option at the time and unfortunately she passed before being able to get her somewhere cleaner and with better hospitality. My Grandmothers last few hours will forever haunt my family due to this facility. Please keep this in mind when looking into this facility.

A friend it a patient there. He has had clothing and other articled stolen. Food unacceptable. Cold hot dog for dinner, Pizza missing most of the toppings for breakfast. Has not seen a doctor in the 3 weeks he’s been there. Poor Or no communication with staff.

My mother was at Friendly Village before she passed away. I was her power of attorney, and they went over me because they were poor people. They wouldn't listen to me. That's why she passed away, because when I told them to bring her to the hospital, they didn't do it. She had sepsis. Also they were very, very short-staffed. When the state came in, they made sure that they got every spot filled. However, when the state was gone, it was back to having one person for every 23 patients. It was supposed to be one for every eight. The staff was so rushed that they couldn't take care of their patients. My mom had to be put into her bed by them. However, when I went there after supper, she would be crying, sitting in there waiting for somebody to come in and take care of her. That happened many times. They would have sweet rolls for breakfast. Well, my mom was a diabetic, so that means she couldn’t get any breakfast those mornings. I would never recommend Friendly Village.
