My mother moved into Lakeshore Manor about a month ago. The biggest thing was to be able to visit my mother, due to COVID most of the places were in shutdown, Lakeshore Manor has been covid-free for two months, and so they started allowing visits on site. That was the big deciding factor. The staff is very nice, and they're willing to help you in any way they can. We saw my mom's room when she first moved in, it seemed nice, but she's in hospice, and my understanding is we'll be able to visit in her room. The facility is very clean, it doesn't smell of old people, urine, or anything like that, and it's quiet. I think everybody there is pretty friendly.

I took a tour of Lakeshore Manor. The manager was very nice, it was a clean facility with friendly people. I would consider them. We looked at their memory care unit, and that would be one place we'd recommend that others could look at. It was located right on the river in Oshkosh, it's a very serene setting. The facility felt comfortable, and I'd felt comfortable sending a loved one there. The only room made available was a double, which we weren't interested in at the time, but they have other single rooms. The staff who gave the tour was excellent.

We went to Lakeshore Manor. The place was very elegant. It seemed very well kept, but it was not a good fit for my mother because it seemed too stuffy and like more of a high-class place. My mother has money, but it doesn't seem like the right fit for her. It seemed far too upscale. The place was dark, and the furnishings were dark, and the style there was more like trying to be elegant or something like that, but we wanted something more bright and cheery, and that place didn't come across that way. It seemed like there was too much staff and people were sitting and not doing anything, and the phones weren't ringing. It seemed overstaffed. They offered were very limited furnishings, and the rooms were quite small, but they did have private bathrooms. Activities seemed very good. They had people conducting singalongs and group activities, that type of thing. I only interacted with one person (the person that conducted the tour), and she was very good. However, the facility seemed dark and unwelcoming.

I toured the Lakeshore Manor. Its's all memory care, and I didn't feel my husband needed that kind of home. He has mild dementia, but he doesn't really need a total memory care facility. The tour was very good. I didn't really get to meet or interact with anyone, but the director was very lovely. I don't know about the rest of the staff. The dining area was very open, clean and very good, and the menu looked alright. With COVID, they were more restrictive in their activities, but they had a lot of outside activities where they had the residents go for excursions and different things like that. The room was quite small compared to where my husband is right now.

We have decided for my mother to go to Lakeshore Manor, a memory care in Oshkosh. It's a little bit more spacious. The people at the other facility we visited were just a bit low functioning whereas my mom is not at that point so I just want to give her something with a little more variety of residents. It was very warm and welcoming and it was just a different type of atmosphere altogether. Not that it wasn't warm and welcoming in the other facilities but it was just over the top, literally like walking into a fine dining club. Walking into Lakeshore however, you know you are walking into an assisted living facility and I like that. I met with the memory care facilitator, I met with the kitchen staff, and I met with some of the CNAs and the nurses. The visit was more encompassing of everyone that would be involved in my mother's care and that was something that was very important to me. It was really nice to meet all of these people and get an idea of what they're doing and their credentials, things like that. It's a very clean, very large area. When I say large, I'm talking huge dining areas where there's ample room for people with walkers and anything else to get through. My mom is excited to go there.

My mom moved into Lakeshore Manor Oshkosh. It's very nice. My first impression is very good, and we like it there. The staff did a really good job. Their dining area is very pretty, and they have plenty of activities. They have speakers on different things, craft projects, games, and bake. Her room is very nice and bigger than what we expected.

Our hearts go out to other families who, like ours, have or had a family member with advancing dementia. After looking at twelve different settings for our mom in three counties, we found the care, compassion and understanding of dementia we were looking for at Lakeshore Manor Memory Care. While cost was not a factor in deciding on Lakeshore Manor for mom, we were surprised the cost was less than the assisted living facility she resided in prior to her move. Mom's move to Lakeshore was carefully coordinated by their marketing and memory care staff. The assistance we received moving her personal belongings to Lakeshore Manor and setting up her room was so helpful and relieved a lot of our stress. While the meals served to residents is outstanding, and the facility and grounds are well designed and exceptionally maintained, it was the dementia focused programming and the caring staff that especially stood out for us as we made our decision. Dementia progresses differently for each person it affects. We found Lakeshore Manor staff to see each resident as a unique individual, therefore our mom's care plan was custom tailored to her special needs. Lakeshore nursing staff and memory care staff always took time to communicate with us about mom, as her health and functioning declined, and were a great emotional support for us and for her. We would highly recommend Lakeshore Manor Memory Care to other families looking for quality dementia care for their loved ones. We were at Lakeshore often and observed first hand how each resident was treated with respect and dignity and we are forever grateful to the Lakeshore Manor staff for the care our mom received.

I think everything is going very well at Lakeshore Manor. They're very involved, tuned-in, interested the residents' needs, and interested in them enjoying daily life. The whole place and location are beautiful, right on the water with beautiful gardens. The only reason I did not give it a perfect rating is because it needs a little bit of updating. I think they need to have more modern technology when it comes to the emergency pull strings. Maybe they can update it to some sort of a button that the residents can wear. That way, the residents can be attended to anywhere and don't need to go to where the pull string. That would be my only suggestion.

My mom was at Lakeshore Manor for about two or three weeks. The staff was very good. The rooms were like hospital rooms. She shared a room, and she had a bed and a dresser. The place was very clean. My mom's roommate was always out for activities, but I really don’t know what they were because Mom did not participate in them.

The Country Lakeshore Manor assisted living facility was recommended by a friend in the region as an option for our aunt. The backyard featured many places to enjoy around the grounds safely. They also had plenty of park-like space with large trees and nicely manicured lawns. We could see that the residents there were content and well cared for when we arrived. It was apparent that this was a very livable community with a homey atmosphere. The facility can accommodate all levels of ambulation. Each room had nice views with a calming, yet not boring décor featured lots of fresh air and light. As we walked through the building, we noticed how the entire interior design was nicely ordered and easy to navigate The seniors can easily socialize, craft, play games, watch TV and films and participate in many stimulating activities. Communal activity rooms were spacious, with comfortable furniture. The residents are offered healthy, home-style cooked meals in a casual restaurant setting. The main dining room had a comfortable and spacious decor. The food looked and smelled delicious, as well as healthily prepared. The menus included many interesting dishes, as well as the usual American dishes. Snacks are offered regularly throughout the day and whenever residents desire them. The exercise center included daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes. The equipment was nicely maintained. Residents can also safely navigate the lovely garden pathways. The private rooms were decorated tastefully with a homey, light and airy atmosphere. Bathrooms were designed with safety seats and rails. Each unit had nice views of the surrounding area. The residents all looked well taken care of. The staff seemed to enjoy interacting with the seniors.
