My mother has been moved into a nursing home at Evergreen. What I really liked about it is the staff. They have been just wonderful. I can't go in, and I can only see my mom through the window. She's in isolation right now, so I have not been in her room or anything. The outside is lovely; I just haven't been on the inside. Everything is covered in snow, though. She has only been there a week, but they have contacted me every day multiple times, the multiple people who work with her. Since I can't see her during COVID, they are in contact with me all the time and let me know what's going on, so I really appreciate that. They have just been great. She's in the isolation wing, as everyone who comes there has to be isolated for two weeks. I don't know anything about what they have there.

I liked that Evergreen had a memory care unit, but they don’t seclude them with the other residents. Mom is in a room with one other person, and it’s fine and nice. They hang her pictures for her -- which I appreciate. I think they’re adequate as far as storage in room. Even though she has a double room, there’s a separation between the two rooms, and I think that’s important so that each person has their own privacy. The food is very good. My mom has gained about 10lbs, and she went in very underweight. As far as activities, they do involve her in bingo.

Evergreen was fabulous, but the problem was that it was over our budget. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, personable, and took time with my mom to listen to her stories. The residents were not active, and some were in wheelchairs. I think they were in a worse medical condition than my mother.

My mom was at Evergreen Retirement Community for three weeks. The staff, dining room, and food were very good. There were a couple common areas right on her floor, and it was very nice. Everything was always well kept and clean. They did a lot of activities, but my mom didn’t participate in any of that.

Evergreen is state of the art with swimming pools and so forth. I have a lot of friends there. Everybody loves it. Their apartments are small compared to others. They have condos which were what I was seriously looking at. They’re very good but not excellent for what they offer. They’re expensive, and Oshkosh is not an expensive town. The residents are very content. They have no complaints at all. It’s mostly those of us who are looking at it who would find reasons not to go. I participate in their activities as a part of the community so I know their activities, I know their food, I know their staff. I know the quality of everything so I can speak with an outside eye.

We chose Evergreen Manor because the facility is very nice. We haven't moved in yet but we toured the place. The only staff that I had talked to was the residential director and she was very nice and very helpful. The food is very good and they have different food selection. The facility has independent living, assisted living, memory care, and a skilled nursing care. I would definitely recommend this place.

My friend's stay at Evergreen provided everything I would expect of an assisted living facility, and more! She chose Evergreen because a number of other friends and acquaintances had used the facility and provided good comments. She was there for about three months in 2009 after falling and breaking her hip. The early part of the stay required relatively close medical supervision, and the stay morphed over time into rehab. The Evergreen building and facilities are not the most modern, but they are clean and tidy and I had no complaints about them. The food seemed to be of a good quality too, and my friend was quite complimentary about it. She also really enjoyed the social activities and games that were hosted by Evergreen. The medical staff seemed to be very competent too. But the main reason I have given Evergreen a 5 star rating is because of the overall quality and professionalism of their staff. I just can't say enough good things about them. When you leave an elderly friend or relative in a care facility, you want to feel they are in good, caring hands. And I just felt this resonating from every Evergreen employee. They were positive, smiling, caring, all of those things you would want to see and feel.

Evergreen Garden Place is located in lovely Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where we were checking out places for our aunt to live in the area. We really liked the well maintained exterior. It looked like a large estate, rather than place where seniors live. The outside area was very nicely maintained. The facility can accommodate all levels of ambulation. The private rooms featured plenty of air, light and space in nicely decorated surroundings and comfortable furniture. The entire facility featured lots of fresh air and natural light. Furniture was all lovely and easy to access. The colors throughout the building were soothing and comfortable. Each room we saw was beautifully decorated with nice furnishings. Activities are designed around the things that residents enjoy. The seniors can easily socialize, play games, watch TV and films and participate in many stimulating activities. Communal activity rooms were spacious, with comfortable furniture and nice decors. The main living room had plenty of light with a cozy fireplace. The residents go on many trips to visit local and surrounding art galleries and museums, and also eat at local restaurants. The exercise room features aerobics and yoga classes and nice equipment to use. The many menus all had good food options for all kinds of diets. The dining room was quite nice, with plenty of space. The food we saw looked and smelled appetizing. They had plenty of healthy snacks offered regularly and when requested. This is a well tended facility with content residents and considerate and efficient staff.
