The care is great because the caregivers are great. There are tons of them that have been there forever. The food is GREAT considering their cooking for 46 people. What I loved to see was how many family members dine with their loved one daily! The staff at Riverview would always make whatever special accommodations we asked for. My wife still visits to help with activities-we feel like family there.

Staff was on their personal phones, food was cold, and didn't smell clean either. We decided to take our family elsewhere .

Riverview Village was very expensive, and the rooms were very small. It was more like a nursing home than an assisted living facility. The staff seemed fine. The rooms need to be more updated for assisted living. It was very clean, the common areas were very nice, but my mom was turned off by the rooms. They didn't seem to have as much available for residents to do as some of the other places.

If you care about your loved one, don't bring them to Riverview. The facility is understaffed, disorganized and poorly managed. They do not know how to care for dementia patients, prevent or treat bed sores, or keep an incontinent patient clean or dry. The smell of urine practically knocks you out as you walk the halls. The activities director, however is outstanding.

Even when we talked to the manager, he said Riverview Village wasn't a place we would probably be happy with. They didn't offer meals and they didn't have a 2-bedroom. They were more like studio rooms and they were very small. The hallways were clean, but the room they showed us only had one small refrigerator and a microwave; I wasn't looking for that. The staff was very polite and very honest with us, but the place wasn't for us at all.

My aunt is in Riverview Village Senior Living. They have things for incontinence and dementia and the ability to transfer to Medicare and Medicaid. I've been there a couple of times, and it's a nice facility. They have daily activities, on-site therapy, housekeeping, laundry services, and on-site beauty salon. They have three homestyle meals a day and utilities including wifi and basic cable. They provide assistance with daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication. She is in a studio apartment, but they have one-bedroom apartments including ones with a small kitchenette. She seems to be OK with her room, and she's only been there about a month. One of the factors in my sister's decision was that they had a space immediately available whereas some of the other closer ones did not.

Riverview Village is excellent. The staff members are very professional. My mom has been living there for three days now, and it is going well. They were requiring only six months of full payment before eligibility for Medicaid would come into play. Everything is meeting our expectations. They have social activities like card playing, entertainment, and music. My mom is quite a dancer and so she enjoys that too. She still continues with other sort of social hobby activities outside of the community like twice a week, she goes to a dance class. Also, they serve three square meals a day plus snacks. The staff has been very responsive. Everyone is tuned in with my mom. It's a small place, so it is homey, friendly, and nice.

Riverview Village was very nice and immaculate. The staff was very pleasant. The living quarters were very nice and well kept. The food was excellent and prepared by a chef. My mother loved the food. The activities were well planned, and there were new ones available to them daily.

Mom is in River Village, and we are not happy with it because they are not giving her medications on time, and they put her in a little room in the corner where they don't check on her. We have hospice checking on her four times a week. However, this assisted living's medication is wrong, and they have been overcharging us. They are supposed to feed her. They want to take her to the dining room, but a lot of time she just wants to eat in her room. If she wants to eat in her room, a lot of time she doesn't get her food. She said the food is good, but they changed chefs, and now it's not as good as it used to be. She has this call button she presses, but a lot of time it will be an hour and a half to two hours before anybody checks on her. The facility is clean. The room is clean, but they don't come in and clean it. She cleans it herself or we go in there and clean.
