My Aunt lives here and they deserve the highest stars. The nursing team is stellar and food is wonderful! They treat her like a queen and always let her know when activities are going on. She likes the walking paths there and events in the pub. I enjoy how clean the community is when I stop by and the staff is so kind and helpful.

We toured Brookdale Madison West. It was good. I guess I would have preferred to have the place a little bit newer, and the views of the windows were not anything to look forward to. The lady who gave us the tour by the name of Heidi was fantastic. They had an outdoor patio, and there was a library.

My tour of Brookdale Madison West was really good. Heidi, who gave us the tour, was very nice and very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all our questions. The individual rooms were nice. We toured two of their different sizes, and we've toured a few other facilities and this one was just as nice as some of the other ones we toured as well. So that's good. The layout was good. It's a little different. They had good common areas and then two different hallways of the rooms. Overall, everything was clean and well-maintained. It wasn't the newest by any means, but overall, it was nice. You can tell that Heidi is passionate. She has been with Brookdale for over five years, and she's very embedded in the community. Like she leads Alzheimer's and dementia support group close by, that she told us about and invited us to. Not only does she work in the field, but she gives her personal time in the same field, and to me, that speaks volumes. We also got to meet the nurse whose office is in the memory care unit, and she seemed very nice and friendly. We saw support care staff people working with the patients, and they seemed to be engaged and on top of it. So that's good. I like that the memory care unit has a separate entrance from the overall assisted care. I like that it's covered and that it has a little bit of parking there, so if you want to take your resident out or come to visit, it's very easy to do so. But in one of the main rooms that we toured in memory care and Heidi acknowledged it, too, she's like, 'Somebody must have had an accident in here, and we haven't cleaned it yet' because it smelled of urine. So that would be like my one thing because there were some facilities that we toured that didn't have that or would have maybe already had it cleaned up.

Brookdale Madison West was very good. We ate once there yesterday because that was something we wanted to do, and I'm a vegetarian and so we talked to somebody. My impression was the people were friendly. I'm a little unhappy with the staff. I've called them today and they didn't really get back to me very well. The facility was very nice. It was very well put together. It's attractive when you walk in. The meals were incredible. The guy in charge came by, because I am in need of protein, and he offered me plant-based chicken. It was the most delicious meal I've had. It's incredible. Their amenities are basic for a two bedroom at $7,500. You pay your own cable and they give you a pendant.

We went to Brookdale Madison West. The community was very nice, the people were nice, and the residents seemed very happy. It was clean, and the grounds were well kept. We're looking at assisted living right now with a continuum to memory care. We only met one person, but that person was very nice.

I looked at Brookdale Madison West for my husband. While one of the charges was for administering medicines, which was $500 a month, I really have a hard time believing that most of those people in memory care are going to need that. Also, there wasn't any furniture in the room. There was a bathroom and a closet, but I was surprised because I assumed at least there would be a bed and a dresser. There were two staff members that actually did the tour, and they seemed very nice.

I'm impressed with Brookdale Madison West. They've been very accommodating. Their employees are very well trained, very personable, and very caring people. It's like a home away from home. My mother is there temporarily getting her strength back. The rooms are beautiful, and she has lovely view of the wooded area. She's in a very large suite with a kitchen table, cabinets, microwave, and a full-size refrigerator. It's like walking into a Marriot Hotel. It's very well laid out, and a receptionist is always there during the day and evening hours to greet you.

The staff at Brookdale was very pleasant and very interested. They also had the same enthusiasm for taking care of my mom if she would need more physical assistance. The rooms were spectacular. They're just really beautiful. Brookdale is a brand new facility, and they have some very interesting design. They have happy hours for the residents. They have physical therapy, and they did all the types of things that you would expect.

I visited a couple of times and I was not impressed with the activities. The residents seemed to be sitting around most of the time, although, I knew the staff tried hard to involve in them in some of the activities. The rooms were okay, but the bedroom wasn't separated. When you walked in, it was like a nursing home, the bed was there and that was it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We are expecting to open a brand new assisted living next door to Wynwood of Madison West in the Spring of 2015. Additionally, we will be turning the current Wynwood into a memory care community with a full renovation. We would love for you to keep us in mind and come back to see our progress!

My father-in-law is a resident here. It is a small facility, which has about forty-eight residents. It has two lower wings and two upper wings. It is really intimate and about eight to ten residents have their own dining area. The rooms are nice and clean. There seems to be people there to take care of the residents at all time. They are friendly and cheerful folks. They seem to like the residents. They have activities fairly often. We live close so we visit him at least once or twice a day. I think Wynwood has programs that cater to the needs of the residents. From what I understand, if someone has disabilities: memory; vision; hearing; hand-on ambulation, they will give more care.

Everybody was very nice here. We saw the room that was available in the neighbourhood and it looked very nice. They had activities. I was very happy with it but my aunt doesn't want to live there.

This is one of the cheaper ones. It's close to us and we could visit grandma frequently. It is also one of the very few communities that would allow smokers. They've got a smoking area outside. But as it turned out she ended up quitting smoking. The other reason is they would take her cat, and they were friendly about that. She complained a lot about the food. She said there wasn't a good selection, so she would have to eat whatever is being served. She didn't like the quality of food, and sometimes it's served cold. That's the number one complaint. It's also been really hard for her to get use to the personal care aspect because she never had any assistance, so she's having difficulty adjusting to having people helping her bathe and other privacy concerns. But the staff would be very courteous and very caring, especially the director. He was always very friendly with the family. The facility is always clean, and always very quiet. Unfortunately, when my grandma broke her hip, we had to find another home for her cat. And we're trying to find something that's going to be more affordable because my grandparents don't get financial assistance, and it's all coming out of their savings.

My husband lived here for two weeks to give me some respite time. He also completed outpatient voice and speech therapy at this facility. We were both gratified by the way the staff is caring and friendly. There were a few problems while he adjusted but our concerns were never ignored. The director and the heads of the various departments don't hesitate to get personally involved with answering questions and concerns--it is not a situation where the managing is done from a distance. I really appreciated everything the staff did and we'll definitely be using Wynwood for future respite stays.

The assisted living facility looked like a nicely designed building from the outside - with nice shrubs and well maintained lawns. The nice backyard featured many nice seating areas for seniors to enjoy safely. There was plenty of park-like space with large trees and well manicured lawns. The building had many intimate sitting rooms for privacy and visiting with friends and family, as well as larger living spaces for games and many other types of socializing. All of the residents appeared to be enjoying themselves as we walked through the building. The design interior was easy to navigate and pleasant to be in. All of the rooms had very nice views with a beautiful décor and plenty of light and fresh air. The dining areas were spacious and nicely decorated. The residents can choose from a variety home-cooked meals in a cafe setting. The food smelled delicious, was healthily prepared and looked nutritious. The menus featured many types of dishes, as well as the usual American offerings. Healthy snacks are regularly offered during the day and whenever desired. The private living spaces were decorated nicely with a homey feel and lots of light and air. Each unit had pretty views of the outer grounds. Bathrooms were all designed with safety rails and seats. The exercise room includes daily exercise classes and equipment to use each day. Residents can also take walks with supervision or safely alone along the beautiful garden paths and courtyards. The events calendar included stimulating activities like interesting nature walks in the lovely Wisconsin countryside, visits further into town for art, dining, and films and theater to enjoy all of Madison's offerings. The residents all looked content in their stimulating, yet calming living environment with caring and considerate staff.
