I have a lot of friends here at Heartis Village North Shore. It's really easy to meet people because there are a lot of activities. We just had a big St. Patrick's Day celebration. Usually the celebrations are followed with a meal in the cafeteria. They have special programs with music or dancing. We had Irish singers and Irish dancers here. We have a lot of standing committees, like a Parkinson's committee that meets. We also have a council meeting and programs for art and painting. Right now, we only have a Catholic service, so I'm trying to get a Protestant service going. I just wrote a book of prayers that they are going to publish. It will help people who have trouble knowing what to pray for or how to pray. It's a good choice. There are people that are mostly independent, but they have somebody doing their laundry. We have housekeepers that come in once a week. If anything happens, like you spill on the carpet or something, they will come in off schedule. They will clean the carpeting for you and help you clean up any mess you make by accident. The staff are very sympathetic. They have a lot of work to do, but they have a good sense of humor. They always greet you in the morning. In the afternoon, they ask how things are. When you put your call light on, they come pretty much on time. They provide meals three times a day, plus they have a bistro with snacks. Food is not very ethnically related. I think people would enjoy having different types of foods, like Italian and Mexican. They have some of that, but probably not enough. This is a beautiful, beautiful place. It is always kept very clean. They vacuum the carpeting every day. They pick up any messes that are left in the hall. We empty our garbage outside of our door, and they always pick it up (practically before you close the door). They are open to new activities. I would say that the value for the dollar is good.

My aunt will move into Heartis Village North Shore. They have wonderful landscaping around them. The other thing was the aesthetic of the facility is beautiful. It looks similar to the architect and the type of her home and stuff. When I toured the facility, they showed me where the break room was for the staff. When I leaned in, I was looking out the windows. They saw me. They made eye contact. They were very friendly and forthcoming. The staff stood out because they were good at what they were doing, even when they weren't being watched. Heartis Village is in excellent condition. I've been there four times now. Three times, I've been there unannounced, and it is constantly clean, and lit, and the building was kept up. They do have locked doors for memory care. They have alarms, so that makes me comfortable. They've been very wonderful in assisting me in getting all the state paperwork done, getting her rental agreement, and helping me with lists of things that she potentially may need. They even helped me with the budgeting to make sure that this place was a fit for her particular finances. They have routed me to resources if I needed anything outside of what they provide, which I won't because they even have medical staff there. Their director of memory care who was very important to me is very outgoing, very engaged, very aware, and knowledgeable. Those were the things that I was looking for.

I visited Heartis Village North Shore. The person that gave the tour never showed me the assisted living as I asked for. She only showed me what she thought I might need, which was memory care. So, I wasn't happy, but the facility was good. I saw residents just sitting in areas with nothing to do. They didn't seem to be involved in anything. I didn't see any staff around at the time. They may as well have been in their rooms. There was no interaction. The facility was clean. I just didn't care for the way that the residents were just sitting around, not doing anything.

My aunt and uncle live in Heartis Village North Shore. I have visited them many times there. When we knew we had to put my mom into assisted living, we thought that she could go there, because she would have her family and she's already familiar with the spaces, but they don't have the type of care that she needs. Other than that, the staff was amazing. It's a newer facility. The facilities are beautiful. My aunt and uncle moved in when it was brand new. They have a state-of-the-art rehab facility, a movie theater, a little cafe where residents can come and read their morning paper, and a community room that has a big baby grand piano in it and where they can have happy hour and social time with the other residents. They have a beautiful back patio and all these little reading nooks for those who wanted to leave their private space/apartment. It's really lovely. They do painting classes and my aunt loves it, too.

My mother moved to Heartis Village North Shore. It's awesome; they work hard to make it feel like a community. They assured me, and I was able to see happy residents. So I know that my mom is going to be cared for. There's so many amenities and those are wonderful as well. She can get her hair done, she can get a manicure and pedicure. My mom is a southern belle, so she likes to have those things available to her, and they have those there, including a hand massage and foot massage. We visited eight places, and this one was the best. I didn't get to sample their food, but the residents seem to brag about it. The facility is beautiful. They had a bird expert come in and talked to the residents about birds, and they have happy hour. They have a rosary group once a week and a prayer group, and that's important for my mom. There's a couple of people that play cards and poker, so they're going to do a poker group on Tuesdays.

I toured Heartis Village North Shore for my husband, and the place was quite spectacular. It was very high end. It just seemed very elegant and nice. It had fancy appointments. They had a big piano with a gathering room around it. It just seemed very nice. The place was spectacular in every way.

We've chosen Heartis Village North Shore for my dad, and it is very good. It's a very good community, and I like it. The staff does excellent work. They're very professional, very understanding, and they compromise. They are very helpful with everything. The apartments are very up to date; they're very well kept. The seniors love it there. The meals look pretty good. I've seen my dad eat some of the food it, and it looks like it's very good, up to date, and has nice portions.
