My husband is receiving excellent care at Rennes Health & Rehab Center De Pere. They're friendly, efficient, and carry through when they say they're going to do something. He gets physical and occupational therapy (that includes building his upper back). He seems to enjoy the food, too. He is in a private room. It's very adequate for the needs of an individual and they have to slide him in and out of bed (which takes a couple of people). When they put him in a wheelchair, they got a whole bunch of people that they had to call in and put him in there. Then when he comes back, they have to lift him out, and put him back in bed.

My grandmother is a resident at this facility. She gets amazing care and has been so happy since her transition here from home. The staff is attentive and caring. Rooms are spacious and beautiful.

I didn't get my own bubble packed pain meds. My doctor gave them for my use. I did get some other meds that made me sick, dizzy and l fell. I had been taking my other for 3 years so l knew that these were not the ones, l noticed some in great pain at mealtimes. They cried. I think that pain control needs to be managed better. Patients need to be randomly tested to make sure that the pain meds are going to the patient only.

My aunt was in the rehab part of Rennes Health & Rehab Center. It was hard to get hold of staff, and it was hard to get a hold of the patient on the phone because the phones didn't work half the time. The staff was short, busy, and didn't want to deal with you. I think she kept her in her room just laying there a lot. I'm also not sure if they gave her more drugs than she needed because she was pretty much out of it until we moved her. They gave her some rehab, but it didn't work out. We never went inside, but we saw it through the window. I think the facility looked fine. It was expensive.

*Admissions is great. They helped us feel comfortable at first. But didn't see anyone check with us how things were going through the time of being there. *Food there is good, but the options are very odd and limited. *Nursing during the day is alright they do what they need to do. *CNAs are all not provided good communication in shift changes and knowledge on each individuals needs when it comes to things like walking braces. They left my Father in his braces and shoes to go to sleep. Not good at the braces are hard plastic and metal. They should be put back on when he needs to move again. *Night time CNAs basically don't come help you when you ring your bell to you unless you ring it 30 minutes ahead of time. Be conscious of this. There were times patients were left with the decision to see if you can make it to your bathroom on your own or defecate themselves. Few CNAs appeared to be impaired by lack of sleep or something like that. Big dark circles under their eyes and could fall asleep standing. *Rooms are basic, but decent. Just very similar to hospital rooms. *Laundry service is nice to have. *On a larger patient they only showered him 1x a week, which works for some, but not him. His groin got very irritated and no one knew until I told them after a smell. Very disappointing. *Social hour, if doc approves, you get an alcoholic drink, every Friday at 2pm which was very nice to have. *Therapy is good at what they do and get the job done, but you really should go to therapy with your family member. You know them better than they do here and what is "right" doesn't always work the best considering ailments of each patient. They "recommend" in home safety visits with patient to make sure they aren't missing anything, but the patient goes out to their home and then they have to be brought back, which in my opinion isn't good for their mental health. Not mandatory though and they don't tell you that. The necessary medical braces to keep someone walking properly should be sent home with patient and Medicare billed (process confirmed by Medicare) as those would be covered if all medical necessity is described within notes from Doctor. Their knowledge on where to go to get specified medical equipment doesn't exist. They sent me with scripts to places in town here have to order is what I was advised by therapy and discharge, but no place will order specialty braces, they'll send you to a prosthetic and orthopedic place 2 weeks later you possibly could have them, but more than likely they'll have be to be custom made ones now which could take even longer. ***Disappointed in the lack of knowledge overall by the facility. Many great people who really care for patients, but many that should have stayed home due to attitude, lack of patience and mental clarity was off on many. Good luck, just stay close, pay attention and even closer attention to details when you can!!

Please avoid this place like the plague! Only reason gave one star is cause there are none lower!! Looks pretty but nursing homes are about the staff.. And I can not recommend theirs. My mom was there after surgery and had no pain pills for 9 hrs. Legs swelled up like huge balloons and no one noticed or bothered to get her Lasix order renewed!! And no Dr saw her the 2 weeks she was there. Took her out to be admitted elsewhere, as she was worse when she left there then when she came. Now she is doing great!!

This facility was family owned and ran, it was top notch in every way possible right down to homemade meals. Nothing was packaged. They would have special celebrations for all holidays including birthdays. Very clean and all the residents seemed very happy.

My father has been at Rennes for almost 4 years. He is treated well. The staff knows him and cares about him. The facility is very clean and there are many activities for the residents. It is generally agreed that it is one of the two best nursing homes in the Green Bay/De Pere area.

Please Read Carefully! This place is not a place you want to bring a friend or family member you care about. Do not be fooled by the look of the place. They DO NOT attend to their patients. Wrong medications have been given, my mother fell 3 times in their care and she contracted serious infections given their lack of care and attention. Therapy was non-existent. I have been around very good therapist and the individuals they have here are not experienced and DO NOT have a well thought out plan for their patients. They lack conommitment and passion and DO NOT keep families informed.

Dont let this facility fool you, it may look ok from the surface but dont put your family member here at all you will regret it. My family member fell 4 times here, they were delayed on calling paramedics for another situation that my family member needed to be checked out. Meds were given wrong, they dont answer the call button for at least 10 to 20 mins at times, there therapy is disappointing both ST and PT. They state they have a plan and will work with the family as well as the resident and they do the opposite. I have been lied to by one of the Social Workers, the list goes on. Save yourself and your family member alot of headaches and peace of mind go somewhere else. C-Diff was given to my family member here by other residents. Clothes items were constantly missing and family does laundry. You call in and want to know how a family member is and half the time they dont answer the phones once past the front desk. It was a real disappointment and I will never put my family member here again.
