I recently spent several weeks in Genesis HealthCare Teays Valley Center after suffering a broken femur caused by a fall. I can unequivocally say that my treatment and care far exceeded expectations. A superb staff and therapists awaited me. They were attentive to my every need and encouraged me at every turn. When I made my first steps with a walker as my therapist guided me down the hallway, I was greeted by the staff with comments of "You go girl" and "Look at you go!". I felt as if I had just qualified for the Olympics! This kind of encouragement was invaluable. Thank you Genesis!

The staff were all very friendly and very helpful, rooms were over multiple times. Nurses were very kind & patient to explain medications to me especially if this was a new medicine that I was going home on, they never lost their patience with me.nthecphysical Therapy department was great, they not only gave support and direction, they also gave positive feedback, which made me want to work that much harder to reach my goal. The food was very good& served in a nice manner. The one thing that I would recommend is that hot water be placed in the brown holder of the plate holder, so as to keep the plate and the food warmer, the head of the kitchen was very nice & concerned about what preference I might have on my particular diet ( as I was loosing weight) ,he even offered snack to supplement my diet . All in all my experience as an inpatient rehabilitation center patient was good. I didn’t feel I was ready to leave the facility through no fault of theirs, but on the part of my insurance. In closing, I would like to give a great big thanks & kudos to everyone who works there! Keep up the good work !

Rooms were clean and comfortable for my mom. The staff was friendly and always busy. Mom enjoyed bingo night and the children's choir that came to sing.

My grandmother was discharged a few weeks ago, and they were great this at center. She really enjoyed the staff, and it was great they let families into the center now. You can tell they are busy and need more help, but they always apologized for the delay and were very personable. The one downside is that it is harder to get ahold of someone at night and the food was not the best. The therapy department was great, and I felt like everyone did their best to get her home.

My goal is to go home, but everyone is nice here. I have a good relationship with the staff. Now that I get to visit with my wife, it has been so much better. COVID was hard, but they tried their best to keep us safe. I have made some friends with both staff and the other patients here. I would tell anyone to come here.

My room is always clean. COVID was a challenging time, but I think staff did the best they could with starting Zoom calls and keeping us safe. The therapy department is great, they always stop by and tell me hello. The food is okay, they offer some snacks when you want something in addition to the food choice. I am pretty happy here, it is not home but everyone is nice.

The rooms are clean, you always see staff working in the hallways cleaning floors and wiping things down. The staff was very friendly, they were actively trying to make my grandmother's stay more personal. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Their resp therphy , physical therphy is horrible. My friend was in there and they did nothing for them but make them worse . I would not reccomend this facility to anyone. The activities director was was great. But the social worker Morgan was terrible. Ko one seems to care you are just a number and it's all about the money.

My father was there for 7 months during the lockdown. H e went in with a UTI and mild dementia. By the time I was able to get him to the hospital he was malnourished , had pneumonia , suffered a heart attack and was severely dehydrated in their care! As a result , my father passed away. They were cold and unsympathetic about his passing !! They literally called me (3 times) on the day of his service and told me to come get his things ! They rolled it out the door , dropped it and did not say a kind word , as I was heartbroken. Please don’t take your loved one here !

The care at Teays Valley was good. The staff was fine and polite. They had bingo, church, and physical therapy. I was only there to receive antibiotics. It was a nice place with nice people and good food.

My grandparent stayed here for a long rehabilitation. I cannot even begin to describe how terrible it was. Dirty, smelled awful, patients where left on bed pans for hours, never bathed, slept on soiled sheets, and beat all we requested to speak to the director and he never once spoke with us after 90 days of being there. My grandparent left with bed sores and a infection. Nursing staff where horrible!

We just weren't impressed with Teays Valley on our visit ; the atmosphere and the people were not very friendly. The rooms were OK, and the place was clean. They are just average; they don't do the extra stuff.

Genesis Healthcare is like any other nursing home. The staff was generally helpful but they need more CNAs in the staff.
