I'm a resident of Woodlands Retirement Community. They have both assisted living and independent living. My cousin did not financially qualify. I have nothing negative to say about it. Everything is top of the line. The apartments are excellent. They have cornhole, Bridge, musical performers come in, and parties on the holidays like Halloween and Cinco de Mayo. There's something going on all the time. The facilities are top of the line. They have religious services, in-house physical therapy, in-house nursing staff, and an in-house clinic. They have community dining. On the holidays, they usually have a special meal. The food is good.

I'm all set to move into Woodlands Retirement Community in two weeks. Basically, it's a wonderful community. I think the care there is going to be awesome; it was immaculately clean, spacious, everybody there is very upbeat, and I just fell in love with it. It's near my son which is one of the reasons I'm moving there, I just loved it overall, and it just had an awful lot to offer me. The staff was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly, and I couldn't ask for more. There were a variety of styles, number of rooms, and this one that I'm getting is going to be totally renovated.

The Woodlands have been recently renovating a lot of their rooms and are putting in new kitchens. It is in the same town where my mother lives. The staff seems fine. My mother’s first cousin and a lot of her friends are there. It has a very pleasant atmosphere. The rooms are quite nice, well maintained, and taken care of. The food is fine. I've had lunch there, and it's better than adequate. They have a lot of activities going on, like musical programs with a number of retired music teachers there, and they are still pretty active. They have a choir.

I visited this facility because i was in nursing school. We assisted in providing basic nursing care. The staff in this facility were outstanding, very helpful to visitors, but more importantly to the residents of the facility. They strived most to provide classes, such as excercise and fun "game time" for the elderly. The amenities, in my opinion, were "top notch" this facility had it's own barber/beauty shop. i thought this particularly important, especially for the elderly ladies who love getting their hair fixed. In all honesty i could'nt speak 1 negative thing about this facility. All in all the Woodlands facility is one of the best in West Virginia, if not in the United States.

The staff seemed nice enough. The rooms were rather small but the facilities had a lot to offer. They had a place where she could get her hair done and they also had scheduled activities such as bingo. The food here seemed adequate, though she said some of it was not very good. They would not allow her to smoke, which was a good thing because she was sick. They would allow her to leave with family members whenever she liked. Overall it seemed ok, but there was an odor in the building. But I think this is true for most retirement homes.
