I am at The Wyngate. I get good help here. My wife's here with me in a one-bedroom with a bath, and they take care of her. I have a pretty, little garden out here. It's a pretty good-sized room that we had to furnish ourselves. The staff is great. They help my wife almost 100%. Whenever I don't watch my wife, they take her out and keep an eye on her and do a good job.

I wouldn't recommend The Wyngate Senior Living Community to anybody. They did not take care of my father. My father was very neglected. No showers. No brushing his teeth. He was dirty. His clothes were dirty. They just did not take care of him. They did not know how to take care of someone with dementia. My parents were in a one-bedroom deluxe that was very expensive and they did not get the level of care that they would charge me for. Their activities were pretty good. It wasn't bad, but they didn't know the care that they needed. They just don't understand it and they won't talk to you about it or if you try to talk to them about it, they won't give you any information.

I toured The Wyngate Senior Living Community and I liked it. The only thing was the price because it was a little bit more expensive than the location we've chosen for our mom. It was just great. It was nice to go into a place that would care for my mom just like I would. It was well-maintained and very clean. I know they do different activities, and they're right across the bridge in Ohio and are very close to us. It's near restaurants, stores, and hospitals are probably about 15-20 minutes away.

I visited The Wyngate. The people were very nice who gave me a tour. They have assisted living and independent cottages outside. They have staff that will prepare meals if you pay for that. They look a little bit more like apartments, although when you go in it's more like a hotel. There are rooms on either side of the hallway. The rooms are not very big. It's either a one-bedroom layout or a two-bedroom layout. Each of them has a little kitchenette; it looks like a hotel kitchenette. The bathroom is fixed up for handicapped and assisted living, so it is easier to move around in there. The living arrangement is in the middle and the two bedrooms are across from each other. It's kept really nice. They do your laundry for you, but all of the extra things that you need you have to pay for. There is a base cost and then you pay for the amount of care that is needed for the client. If there's a husband and a wife in the room you'll pay a little bit of extra for two people in the room. It is a nice layout. The kitchen is nice and they give you a microwave and a refrigerator. The refrigerator is shorter than a full size. On the cottages, they look like independent individual little apartments. It's a really nice place.

My 89 year old father was in Wyngate respite care for 6 days. Staff let him fall twice in that space of time, and when I insisted on a bed alarm they did not respond when it alarmed. There was no intake assessment so that they knew what he was capable of when he came in, so they tried to force him to do things he has long been disabled from doing, like getting in the shower and getting out of bed and going to dining room for meals. Conditions were often unsanitary as used gloves were left on sink and counters, wet linen brought back to his room, and flecks of poop on his blanket. My grandmother got excellent care there years ago, but things have drastically changed.

The Wyngate Senior Living Community was comparable. Everything was about the same as the other place I visited. The only difference was they allow dogs. The staff was welcoming. It was an older place, but it was clean. They have different choices for the rooms as well. I thought the dining area was inviting and nice too. It was about 3 miles from the mall in opposite direction and also about 2 miles from the hospital.

The director at Wyngate is very welcoming and helpful. They are very good at taking wonderful care of my aunt, and she is very happy there. She likes the dining room, and they serve three meals a day. They have little social events, like bingo and wine parties. They take care of transportation, too. Communication is very good, and they keep in touch.

I had a visit with Wyngate Senior Living Community. The facility was nice. It was more like a senior retirement community rather than assisted living. It didn't look like a nursing home. They had patio homes. The people were very nice. Even though it was a very busy day and I didn't have an appointment, they were very gracious and took me on a tour. They seemed to know the names of all the patients. That's another thing I noticed about them, they seemed to be really involved with the people that were there. One lady was very exuberant about living there and she liked it a lot. The people there seemed happy because we had a couple people who let us see their rooms. The rooms were nice and they had different sizes.
