This facility fails in patient care. They leave residents lying in their own excrement all night and often times until after lunch. Family & friends are 70 miles away and when showing up to visit our love one is still in the bed at 1pm. Patient has not had bed bath, face washed , oral hygiene, fingernails cleaned, brief changes and has not been gotten out of bed. This is embarrassing to the patient. Please don't put your love one here UNLESS you can come visit daily. Otherwise, they will be neglected.

My mother-in-law stayed at E. A. Hawse Nursing And Rehabilitation Center for rehab. The facility wasn't very clean. It smelled bad. There don't seem to be any activities. The nursing staff didn't communicate very well. It's taken care of by Medicare.

After my mother-in-law was discharged from the hospital, she went to E.A. Hawse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was there for about a week to ten days. When you walk in, there's just a parking lot in the front of the building. The inside was not as nice as the other place. They had a buzzer at the door. It took a while to get anybody to come to the door. It didn't seem as clean. It kinda smelled. The room was small. There was not much one-on-one there. They didn't communicate very well with us when we would ask questions, especially during the night shift. They seemed kind of irritated. The people that I saw were not very mobile. They were in their wheelchairs and a couple of people might have the walkers. They were just in the hallway. It didn't seem like they had any type of activity. They had a dining area, but I never saw anybody go there. They need to improve definitely on cleanliness and communication with the family. I asked to speak to the nurse who would have been there on her side of the facility, and I talked to the technician because the nurses had already left for the day. Their communication was lacking.

E. A. Hawse was secluded in the countryside with very nice surroundings. The manager seemed to be on top of things. The staff was very friendly. The rooms seemed very nice. They had a physical therapy center, a community room, and they had someone there who does activities. The whole place was very clean, and there was no odor about it. It was just smaller, and they had fewer residents per staff. Locally, the E. A. Hawse has a very good reputation.
