My friend is happy at Vancouver Pointe. We visited in-person, and we like it almost immediately. It's beautiful inside. I've had several meals there. Some days the food is very good and some days it's mediocre. The rooms that my friend has is a separate bedroom, eating/living room together, and a bath. It's very attractive. It has a refrigerator, a microwave oven, and a stove. It has all the amenities that he would need. The staff members are wonderful. They're all very polite, and they call my friend by name. They say good morning or whatever to him. They always speak to me. They're great. I was just there yesterday, and I had lunch with my friend. With regard to activities, they had a painting class. They had them on display, and it's beautiful. And I know they do cornhole game, they do movies, and they do Bridge. They have a lot of activities. They have a laundry room, and my friend goes and does that. He can get his haircut there. It's almost like living at home without having to drive to those things.

The people here are all very wonderful and helpful. It's a very happy place. I have a one-bedroom apartment with a small shower and a kitchen that is larger than I need. The dining area is very open. It is immediately off a bistro, and it is quite comfortable. There are some tables for two and some for four. It seems to work out quite well, and it is like a restaurant. They have service at the tables, and the food has been quite good. The facility is built around a nice little courtyard, which is very pretty. It is the only garden-like area close by, since it is in a very residential area. There's lots of activities. There's a social hour every Friday usually with a wine bar, and then entertainment on Friday afternoons. There are several games that can be played. Some are a little more physical like Wii bowling. There are also card games, domino games, bingo, and various other games that are available almost every day. We have a program currently called TED Talks where someone presents free linked videos. Then we discuss what we've seen, which is a bit of brain work. There's an arts and crafts program, too. Various residents have groups of people that get together and play Pinnacle and Mexican train. There is transportation for medical appointments and shopping. In addition to that, every so often they will offer a trip somewhere. I think this week there will be a trip to the casino. Usually every week or two weeks there is some kind of little excursion that one can go to on our commercial sized bus.

I've been here since December, and so far, senior living has been a little bit of help to me. The staff was excellent. My room was completely refinished before I moved in. I can just go to the dining area anytime I want, and order some food in the kitchen. They always have three choices for every meal, too, and you can request something that they don't have on the menu. It's nice, because all your meals are included in your rent as well, so you don't pay anything for the food. There is an exercise room and a movie theater. The second day I was here, the girl who was in charge of sales discovered that my TV was damaged. I was going through Christmas week by myself, and there was no entertainment at all. So, she took me to Costco and helped me get my seventy-inch TV.

It was my favorite out of the places I looked. The dining room was livelier and had more of a vibe to it. The food was very good, but I didn't like the dessert at all. It was very nice, and I don't have any complaints. I was impressed. Everybody was very nice.
