My dad lived at the Hampton at Salmon Creek for 17 months before he passed 2 weeks ago. The staff is amazing. They get to know each resident and understand what is the most helpful for them. They treat each person as an individual, with care and compassion. During one of my first visits with dad, I saw a caregiver talking to a woman who was sitting in a chair in the foyer. He was crouched down to be on her level, looked her in the eye, touched her shoulder and in the gentlest voice said "___ are you ready to go in to dinner? Let me help you." And he did. That's how I wanted my dad to be treated. And he was. Dad had a private room with his own bathroom. Dad’s room, and all the rooms I saw, were a nice size, well ventilated and kept clean. Any questions or issues were seen to in a timely manner by the maintenance staff. I was on the phone with dad many times and he'd forget and leave the phone, so I got to overhear the caregivers with dad when they didn't know I was listening. Every time this happened, I was impressed with the interactions I heard. Once a caregiver came in to help dad with something; he was patient and kind, answering every question dad had (no matter how many times dad asked) and was able to gently redirect dad to go participate in an activity. Another time dad was on the phone with me talking about money, which was a huge concern. One of the nurses came in and heard the subject of the conversation and got on the phone to find out who was talking with dad about money. She was very protective of dad and didn't want anyone taking advantage of him. I appreciated that! One afternoon someone came in to give dad his afternoon snack. The caregiver stayed to chat and visit; she clearly knew and understood dad. The entire staff treats the residents as family. I was a frequent visitor and saw great care for all residents. Once I was visiting and the caregiver came to get dad to go to one of the activities. Dad was always asking "What is there to do" and the caregivers made a point of coming to get him to participate and keep him active. The activities are designed so residents can be engaged “in the moment” and find joy in the activity. A front desk receptionist noticed dad was particularly agitated one day, and he wanted to talk to me, so she got me on the phone right then and we got dad calmed down. The nurses got to know dad’s routines and medical needs and know immediately when something was a bit off. They’d call and check in with me and/or his doctor. I always knew dad was well cared for both medically and as a person. Dad's dementia and health care needs were such that I couldn't care for him. The Hampton at Salmon Creek was the next best thing for dad, and I am so glad he was able to live there. It was his home and the staff treated it as such. If I had to do it over, I'd make the same choice again.

I toured The Hampton at Salmon Creek. It was a nice facility. The staff were kind. They did their jobs well. The place was clean. The food smells great. The only thing is that it was just too expensive for us. They have a courtyard and they have a locked-up backyard, but it's open for walks if residents ask for it.

My mother will be moving into The Hampton at Salmon Creek memory care. It seemed like they're well trained and available to the residents when they need assistance. The staff was pretty clear on explaining staffing and the routines of the residents. We have a pretty good communication with the staff. It looked like it's well taken care of. They had very nice amenities. It's cleaned on a regular basis. The staff seemed very kind and friendly.

Placing a family member in Memory Care is difficult; every resident has specific needs. We found The Hampton after being dissatisfied with the care provided at another facility. We were very careful in choosing the second time around in order to match our family member’s specific care-giving needs with the right facility. Our family member has been at The Hampton for three years and they do a wonderful job. She is calm, happy and very well cared for. She has special dietary restrictions prescribed by her physician that are very well met. Even her traveling dental hygienists have commented multiple times about how well her dental hygiene is managed. Turnover among The Hampton nursing staff is very rare and nursing staff levels are great, usually with two nurses on during the peak day time hours and one at night. Care-giving staff levels are also very stable with low turnover. This means they are very familiar with her needs and are quick to notice a possible status change or illness and call us with concerns. Every single person in the building (Caregivers, Nurses, Activities, Reception, Management, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Kitchen Staff, etc.) is well trained in the specifics of dementia/memory care and encouraged to engage with the residents (and families) as needed to ensure their needs are met. The facility is clean and tidy. The food is great; prepared daily and very fresh. Clothing and bedding are kept clean. The activities staff has developed a toolkit that includes a variety of fun and appropriate physical games, word games, and lots of music therapy time. Are they perfect? No. We’ve had issues along the way. But the staff and management team have been very quick to resolve any issues we bring to their attention.

BED BUGS!!!!!!!! O MY GOD………… When one of the staff at this facility told me she was quitting because there was bed buds, we moved out our parent as fast as possible. She said it had been going on for six months and they have not been able to get rid of them because they would have to move everyone out and put a tent over the facility for a month. Further she said there was only one nurse for sixteen hours of the day for sixty plus very debilitated residents, and when there are two nurses it’s only to hand out pills. So, why is the nursing staff stretched so thin as to not be able to properly watch my parent. No wonder why so many of them have lots of un-witnessed injuries. Many cases of fractures at this facility!!!!! Also, I was told that when there is a caregiver shortage (which is all the time) they use the unlicensed shower aids to replace caregivers. Which means no one gets there minimum two showers a week. How many times a week do you shower? There was a lot more information given that I am reporting to the State, so think twice before you put your family here…………………

My father had a stroke after being there 9 days and nobody noticed. Plus they were still ordering meds for him after he hadn't been there for a month. Was promised a full refund which we were shorted 1000.00 dollars. When I went to inquire about the meds and the refund I was told I threatened the woman I was talking to and she walked off told receptionist to call the police. This is how they do business.

My father is now at the Hampton. Its proximity to my mother’s home is the primary thing. Secondly, the personnel there are very easy to work with. The rooms are very ample with room enough in there to bring a personal chair if you choose. The dining hall is big, very clean, and very professional. Everything about the facility is top notch.

Thank you for choosing The Hampton at Salmon Creek for your father. The ample size of the bedrooms and the large dining room are very nice features. We feel our community is top notch as well, and that is directly related to our great teams. We will pass along the kudos, and we appreciate your feedback.

I like the Hampton as it has a homey feeling. I like the fact that they had a doctor on staff. The people working in there were good. They have a big community. If she doesn’t feel comfortable in that one you can move her to a different one.
