The people in Brookdale Fisher's Landing are absolutely wonderful. They're really flexible because when we first went there we didn't know what my father would need, and they're very good about keeping us informed as his needs change. I give them complete thumbs up for that. The studio unit is an ample-size, and there's enough room for him to get around in his wheelchair and he doesn't feel crowded at all. It's well-maintained and everything is very clean. The price is a little more than what we pay for at an adult care home, but the facilities are so much better than those at a care home. One thing they could improve on is providing a little more assistance to the family as far as moving the resident's belongings in. It's odd having to go through the lobby and private dining room when moving possessions, so maybe they can offer another way in to allow families to have access. Everybody seems happy with the meals there, there's always variety, and if the residents want something else they'll get it. The community itself is very nice, immaculate, and always smells good.

We toured Brookdale Fisher's Landing. The tour was well done. The presenter was excellent. He knew the facility, knew their pricing, and knew the services inside and out. He was a very personable fellow. He knew that we were coming. The space that he shared with us was not clean. It was empty, but it was not clean. It appeared to me that someone hadn't even gone over with a damp cloth or a broom or something to kind of spiff that up a little bit. He showed us a one-bedroom apartment that had a tenant, which was uncomfortable for me. I would have rather seen a floor plan. However, that being said, I was not satisfied with the cleanliness and he had told us that they go in once a week and do a cleaning, so for instance, the toilet seat was not clean. The floor going through the apartment to their front door was not clean. There were rugs, but the bare areas were not clean. I didn't like the kitchens. The refrigerator was smaller than an ice chest. There was an odor in there, not an unclean odor, but not a pleasant odor. They did not have a choice. The meals were prepared. The cafeteria or the eating area smelled good. So, whatever they were eating smelled like it was tasty, but it wasn't the restaurant-style set up.

The staff at Brookdale Fisher's Landing is very friendly and cooperative. They are doing their best to take care of my wife. The dining area is very nice. They just remodeled it. Her room is just average. They offer activities like bingo, chair yoga, and some other things.

They make promises that they never keep. The staff and management are at odds with each other and have no communication. If a resident proves to need too much care they try to get rid of them as fast as possible. Whether that be calling an ambulance to take them to a hospital or pressuring a family member to come and get them. They just want them out and gone so they don't have to care for them. Not professional at all. Residents are unaware there are activities, but wish there were more. They charge top dollar for extremely minimal services. Do not put your loved one in this facility.

Brookdale Fisher's Landing was OK, but the biggest problem that we had was that it took them a little longer to respond to the calls for help. Overall, my parents tried to take care of everything themselves because they felt that the people there were too young and not really that experienced. Therefore, they did not feel comfortable being there. My parents' apartment was fine and had a good-sized living room, a small kitchen, a large bedroom, plenty of closet space, and a fine bathroom. Mom had a scooter and dad had a wheelchair, and they were able to get around in their apartment, so that was good. The dining room was fine, and the food was good when they first went there, but changes were made and it went downhill quite a bit. At first, they had coffee and juice available for the residents all of the time, but in the end, they removed that. There were some members of the staff that were very good, and my parents liked them.

My mother is in Brookdale Fishers Landing for two months now. The staff are pleasant enough, but this facility is going through some owner changes. There are a lot of promises, but everybody is so busy that there's no follow through. They parked her in a double bedroom. It's spacious and very luxurious. There are activities, and they are posted on the board everyday. There wasn't any smell like an old place home. The dining area is nice and quiet.
