My Mother received the best care at Avalon! The staff is wonderful, caring and compassionate. The facility is very clean and organized; the rooms are big and spacious. Thank you for all that you do at Avalon!

Avalon Care Center at Northpointe seems to care about the people there. They keep the place clean. I think like almost every place else, they're short-handed, not terribly, but they are giving my wife therapy sessions to try to strengthen the rest of her body and stuff. I don't have much to say against them other than just a couple of people who have maybe burned out a little bit. It could be that I've just seen them on days when they were having a bad day, but even those people have taken care of my wife quite well. The therapist, especially the gal that takes her jokes with her, and is just having fun with my wife. She seems to like what she's doing. I'm very happy with them.

I thought my mom would die within a few months of choosing Avalon for long term care because she was going downhill fast. She has received such good care there, instead she is stronger more competent and happy. Meds have been adjusted to get rid of confusion, her needs are taken care of and the facility is clean and everyone is friendly and kind.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was there for 6 weeks durring my stay it took 15 to 45 minutes for light to be answered. No help at all durring meal times they mad me feel rushed and if you ask the any thing else they were discussed. Most of the time workers didn't change glovesbetween patients and they didn't wash hands workers were very rough when handling me. I would Not recommend this facility to anyone terrible experience

My mother is in Avalon at Northpointe right now. She just tested positive for Covid, but she is pretty much asymptomatic at this point, and she is actually doing very well. She has been there for almost two weeks now. I really like that place. They have been very helpful, very informative, and I believe they're really taking good care of my mother. Unfortunately, I can't go and see her, but I get to call her and talk to her, so I'm really impressed with them. The only thing my mother complained about was lunch one time because there was stuff on there that she didn't want to eat. I think my mother kinda forgets sometimes, and it is probably because she is asymptomatic, but other than that, she hasn't complained about anything as far as cleanliness, her room or service or anything like that. They have been so helpful the times I have called and talked to people. I don't handle any of her financials; it is paid for with Medicare and her health insurance.

Staff act like it's their first day on the job. Nobody knows who's in charge. You have to make the same request many times before somebody actually responds; then they'll likely get it wrong. The food's not healthy, mostly, like they're on some kind of tight budget. Could use some people skills, that's for sure; arrogant and pushy like you're their personal property to do as they like. Noisy. People yelling to be heard above the loud TVs and radios. This place is the perfect example of how NOT to operate a nursing home.

This facility helped us overcome, Alcoholism, Depression, Weight Loss. We are now happy, thriving, gaining weight and kind to others and eating normally! We love the clean, secure facility and the wonderful strong staff to patient ratio. The facility is clean, comfortable with large rooms and smells good and sounds peaceful and is so helpful in all needs. Not one complaint after 2 years of tender care!

The rooms were always filthy and dirty with garbage left on the floor dropped by the nurses and not picked up to put in the garbage. Always took the nurses forever to tend to their patients because said they were short staffed and didn't treat their patients with good care or respect. The staff never informed me of any progress in the care of my husband unless I asked them. Had one good nurse who I would recommend but that wasn't enough for the care of all the patients. I wouldn't want to be in their care knowing how they care for their patients and would be the last place I would go to for care if needed. Wouldn't recommend this place for any care even to my worst enemy if I had any.

This is an unsecured facility with no surveillance. They are understaffed and there are no doctors on site. The main activity noticed is watching TV. That is all I see patients doing there. Rooms are typical styled hospital looking rooms with multi patients.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I have just been discharged after 6 weeks of excellent care. I was in the hospital for sternoclavical Joint sepsis for 8 days and very ill. My doctors treatment plan recommended to have 3 infusions a day for 6 weeks. This was a shock to myself and husband, but necessary for healing. I was told to pick a Rehab Center from a list provided to me, so I began by asking hospital workers what they knew about several. Avalon came up 4 times over other centers. I worked in rehab many years ago and wanted to be sure I had the best one for this treatment. I am very happy to say I was treated with great respect and wonderful staff care. My experience at this facility and observations of patients and the staff that cared for each person was admiration and much appreciation. They are all very professional and making sure everyone has their needs met at each shift. I feel truly blessed to be taken such good care of for the 6 weeks I was a patient. I and my husband are truly glad to have picked the Best place I could be to heal. Avalon was the best choice for me and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent facility for their loved one, this would be the place. I am very thankful to all the staff who made my long stay work well for me.

For the past two years I have been the contact person for person who was legally blind and receiving dialysis three times weekly. I visited on average about every ten days during that entire time I never saw or heard anything negative from my patient nor from anyone else I encountered at the facility. The room was always clean, the staff respectful and helpful and even extended themselves to accomodate my needs in reference to my patient. I absolutely would recommend this facility to anyone needing their services and would choose this facility for myself should it ever become necessary for my own needs.

My mother-in-law is actually in a skilled nursing facility. She is in Avalon Care Center. We chose this facility because my father-in-law had been there after surgery for rehabilitation, and we felt like the nursing staff was extremely good. When my mother-in-law took a turn for the worse, it was determined that it would be the best fit for her and so we have her moved there after hospitalization. Their care is very good. They do a very good job of keeping the family up-to-date with information as to how things are going with my mother-in-law. They let us know -- even if it is just the slightest little thing -- if there has been a change. They're right on top of it and are quick to let us know. The caregivers, at least the one I have contacted, all seem to really, genuinely care about my mother-in-law. They seem to watch her very closely, which I really appreciate. They give my mother-in-law things to do. If she has free time on her hands, she has a tendency to try to leave or sit down and cry, it is part of her illness and it is unfortunate. They also keep track of her quite well -- so far, she has not managed to escape and this is a good thing. My mother-in-law seems to be happy there. What's unique about the caregivers is that they just seem to go the extra mile for all of their patients. I'm very impressed with the fact that they do that. One thing though, it is not a lockdown facility so they have to continually watch the doors to make sure none of the patients leave. Yes, it is a rehab center, but as long as they are going to take in geriatric patients and patients who are needing memory care type facility, it would be better if they actually have a lock on the door. But other than that, they have nothing to improve on.

We had problems with the care in Avalon Care Center. Mom had to wait too long when she rang the bell. There was a nurse that talked meanly to my mom, and then she wasn’t allowed to talk to her. They’ve got a couple of male aides that were more compassionate. The maintenance and housekeeping were great, but they’re not very skilled in cooking and preparation of meals for the elderly.
