My husband was at Sherwood Assisted Living two years ago. Just recently, I went there again to visit some people that I knew and it's always very clean and very cheery. The landscaped grounds around it were kept up very well. They have a little area with a gazebo in it, a waterfall, and a nice lawn. They have several little grassy areas with lots of beautiful trees and beautiful flowers. So, it's a very nice environment to walk around outside. The inside had long, clean hallways with nice artwork on the wall. My husband always enjoyed walking down the hall, looking at the artwork, and talking about it. They had really good meals. They had fish a lot of the time, like salmon, and some shrimp, too. They always had a variety of choices. If you didn't want the main entree, you could always have something else, even just a sandwich. The food was well served. Before the pandemic, they had a nice salad bar at dinner. They had very caring chefs. The chef at one time came and talked to my husband when he said he wanted to talk to him. That was very nice.

Sherwood Assisted Living seemed to be good. The lady was great. They were just having a harder time finding help. The rooms seemed to be quite good. The spaces were quite adequate. The activities seemed to be fine. They interacted quite well with the people that I saw there.

Sherwood Assisted Living was very accommodating. They were able to take care of my mom. The staff was very kind. Her room was adequate. They have organized games, music that comes in, and church services. The food was fine. They made a pretty good variety. The only thing was just like everybody else, they were short- staffed. A lot of their staff has been with them for a long time and some of them turns over fairly frequently. They did a good job though with the activities. It's a good place.

I like Sherwood Assisted Living because it's very upbeat. I like the CNAs. They were very caring. My mother enjoyed staying there for a brief time. She's there for respite care. It was just a little over a week. We were just doing it on trial. The food is good.

My wife has stayed in Sherwood Assisted Living, and she was at the top end. They can't do any more for her than what she's getting now. With COVID, I was talking to her through the window, and that was it. Up until about a month ago they had visitations in the room, and it could even be personal contact, but you still have to wear masks. They take temperatures before you go in, and all of that. I've checked or gone through a couple of the nursing homes, and it is a little bit more on the lenient side, but still very careful. With COVID, they were extremely careful in Sherwood. For her room, they supply a lot of fixtures, like a bed, a chair, but not a table. You could bring your own things in there to augment what they have, or you can choose not to use anything they supply, so interior decoration is up to you. The staff there is very helpful. The food in Sherwood is pretty well geared, not to personal taste, but to personal requirements, so they have a dietitian that works with you, or works with the patient. They have a library that is very extensive. They have activities, and they have staff in charge of activities, so it is totally organized for everyone. They have various presentations from outsiders, whether it's a singing group, or an information group. They have activities, like Halloween for example, where Sherwood is open for kids to come with their parents. It's a big festive thing, and they have a number of festive activities within that, so it is not just sitting at home. You can choose or elect to be part of everything.

Sherwood Assisted Living was a nice community. They had very nice rooms and dining area, community rooms, a game room with a pool table and cards, and several inner courtyards for people to go outside or do some gardening. They had activities and a bus for scheduled trips and outings. They've got nurses on staff to assist with people's medications. It's a very nice, clean, nicely designed, and beautiful facility. It looked very well cared for and functional for someone that needed some help, but could live on their own as well. They had different room sizes that were nicely laid out and comfortable, and people could bring in their own items to make it a lot homier. Even the smaller rooms were nice for those living there long term.

Sherwood Assisted Living had a little more to offer than other places for care. They had memory care and care for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s. It is a little more spread out. It was nice and clean, but not quite as new as other places. They had a nice dining area, an activities room, and all kinds of activities. They were really nice.

My mom is at Sherwood Assisted Living. She has been there since April. I think they’re very caring and they watch out for her. It’s a very nice place. My mom has her own private bathroom. The food is good. They watch the meds very, very carefully. It’s a good place. It’s a privately-owned facility and the owner has very high standards. They have music of some sort everyday, exercise and outings. It is a very beautiful place, so they take them on scenic rides. It has beautiful ground. It’s very clean and nice. My mom is happy there.

This privately run assisted living where all units are ground floor appears to be run very professionally and has a very good reputation locally. Was looking to find a place for both Mom and Dad. Dad liked it and was ready to move in. Mom refused, saying "it smelled like dogs." (Interesting comment from someone who has a dog. No one else noticed a smell).

Sherwood was a smaller facility and an older place, but it seemed to be clean and very well-lit. It seemed to be pretty well-managed and had adequate staff. They seemed to care for their clients well. The rooms seemed to be small, and I would have loved to see it a little larger and a little modern looking, but it seemed to be clean.

My mother-in-law ,has been a resident in their Special Needs Unit for the past 2 years. At 89 years young with Dementia the staff there takes wonderful care of all of her needs. It is so nice to see the way they interact with her. My husband and I tried to take care of her in our home for 9 months and after we moved her to Sherwood I was scared to let go and trust them to take as good of care of her as I did. Well guess what, they take better care of her than we could. We couldn't meet all of her needs the way that the staff does.

The facility was well-equipped mainly because I think there is so much competition between other assisted living facilities in Sequim. This town is known for its older citizens so retirement homes and assisted living facilities are big business here. The nurses were very courteous and from what I can tell, very kind to their patients.
