We placed my father at the Village Concepts of Fairwood. My father liked the fact that it was on the golf course and a little bit on the newer side. The rooms were bigger. The staff is kind, courteous, and willing to help. The food is pretty good. They take them off-site weekly and to appointments.

We went to Village Concepts of Fairwood. It was very nice. Beautiful grounds. Beautiful building. They have lots of staff and friendly people. The apartments were very nice and very beautiful. The staff who helped me with the tour was great. She was very nice and very helpful. She answered questions and pointed everything out for us. The dining area was very nice. They had lots of options, and they had a couple of different places to eat. They had lots of activities, a game room, an art room, a beauty salon that was nice and a library.

My mother is going to Village Concepts of Fairwood. The thing that we like is that it's a small community. Even though there's a $5,000 nonrefundable joining fee, it's good. It doesn't have a long-term commitment. It's like you pay month to month. After looking at other places in the near area, I thought their rates were pretty good. It's all brand new, so we just really like that, and it's close to our home. We're going to the memory care, and that was nice and small. My mother will share a bathroom and a little sitting room with another person, but she has her own bedroom. I thought it was very nice. The person who took me around was very friendly. It was a nice young girl. Jessica was her name. She was very nice. Everyone was very nice. She answered all our questions. We saw the menu and the activity calendar, and we were pretty impressed with everything that they do. I think it'll be good for my mother. It's very clean and it's very nicely done. The common spaces were very nice. It's very pleasant. My mother can come and go any time, like we can check her out any time. It's really quite nice. There are small patios. There aren't many large areas outside. They don't have swimming pools or anything like that. They don't have an exercise room, but they do run exercise classes. Mostly they have people come in. They don't have an onsite doctor. They have contracts of people that come through. I think that keeps the costs lower, but it's nice. They take patients to their appointments, and they have a little shuttle bus. It's not too far from the Valley Medical Center, which is just a ten-minute drive to the hospital.

We toured Village Concepts of Fairwood. The general appearance was very attractive, very open, and airy. They've recently finished building their facility, so of course, everything is nice and new. It was very clean, and it had a nice atmosphere about it, and I'm talking about the lobby and the entrance as you walk in. The person who greeted me was very pleasant just touring through the rooms and going up the stairs. They have elevators, too. The residents there seemed to be pretty happy and active. When I got into memory care, though, it didn't have that same kind of atmosphere partly because you could tell that a lot of them don't have their mental capabilities about them. There are a lot more individuals that have dementia and you can feel the lack of interaction among the individuals. They kind of sit there and do not engage or interact with each other to the same degree, of course, as they do in the independent living area. Jessie gave me the tour, and she was wonderful. She was very nice. She answered all my questions. She was polite. She reached out and contacted me back several times. She was very efficient and effective. However, the residents didn't seem like they were involved with an activity, but it could be, too, that they were partially eating their lunch.

Village Concepts of Fairwood is a beautiful facility. It's brand new. It felt like you were in a very nice country club house. It was very quiet, except when you're on the outside. It's very noisy because you're on a very busy street, and I didn't like that. The rooms were beautiful. They had a one-bedroom with a den, which mom really liked. She liked the one that had a view of the golf course and a little tiny patio, where you could go and sit outside. We only got to meet one person, who was the manager. She was super friendly and helpful. I would have liked to meet more staff, though.

The people at Village Concepts of Fairwood were friendly, but everything just seemed to be small, and we're not ready for such a huge change for us. Also, they did not have a swimming pool. The outside gardens were lovely though. The view of the golf course was nice. It was also the closest one of our children. The menu looked great. We are just not ready for that kind of environment.

We saw Village Concepts of Fairwood and they have facilities supporting all levels of care. They're very organized, the building is brand-new so everything is spotless and gorgeous. The layout of the facility was amazingly nice because it's new so they're targeting it more for gathering areas. The staff who assisted us during the tour was April. She was extremely knowledgeable, she was very accommodating, very quick to get us in there and she did a great job. They had a nice dining room. We've observed that they were doing a blood-pressure check on the day when we were there. They have a pool room, a game room, a reading room, and different types of clubs that you can join. The rooms were spectacular. They were immaculate, and because the layout was so nice, you didn't realize you were in such a small space, square-footage-wise.

There is no telephone jack in the respite room and therefore no way for my wife to call or receive telephone calls in her room. Their solution for incoming calls is to have a staff member take a cell phone to her room and then dial the number that called in.
