My dad recently moved into Capital Place and we are so impressed with the level of care he is receiving. There are private caregivers for hire, three meals a day, and weekly housekeeping. It is such a relief to know that he is being taken care of. Management has been wonderful to work with, they were definitely part of the reason we chose Capital Place. Hoping for many more years at Capital Place!

Units do not have full kitchens. Dining options are basically none. Staff is rude. Moved out after only a few days. They refused to give me any partial refund.

I love this community. My family member was provided with a great call device that offers 24/7 emergency support. When moving in the staff was so helpful and even provided a thorough orientation for him. The residents all have good things to say

Holiday Capital Place is beautiful. It's one of the nicest places I've been to. It's nice. I toured the main building and a one-bedroom, which is on the third floor. And then I toured the condo which is just outside the main building, and it was nice also. Madison took us around, and she was very, very polite. She called back and thanked me for coming for the tour. It was my ideal place. Everything is right there if you need it. The condos don't have a washing facility. You've got to take your washing inside the main building, but that's just a couple of feet away. It's not that far, or you can get somebody to come and help you take your laundry in. They have patios in the apartments that we look at. Outside, they have places where you could go and sit.

Holiday Capital Place was lackluster. When I went there, there was no one at the front desk, and I waited about 5 minutes before someone showed up to greet me. They had double-booked the appointment, and I had to wait an extra 5 to 7 minutes after that for someone to give me a tour. The room was fine. There's nothing special. There were no safety cords in the rooms that I visited and that is a concern. The staff who assisted me was nice enough, but she was the activities director, not the sales manager, so she didn't have a lot of information. They had a piano there. The activities manager said that they had just done a planting day. They'd go and rent a movie on a weekly basis for people to watch in their movie room. I already talked with the general manager there. She wanted to know why I left the review that I did. It was simply because it looked as though it was not well managed by the staff that was there that day. I did not have a good visit and I was not able to get the information that I needed to get. We were told that it would be more of an assisted living type of facility going in. When I got there, I found out it was more independent living, so it looked as though the information I was given about the facility (by the person who set me up with that visit) was not as advertised. I suggest they add safety pull cords in every single room, ensure that there is a staff member at all times at the front desk when they are supposed to be, and ensure that the visits are not double booked. They were upgrading their amenities.

I have a friend at Holiday Capital Place. I was there every Monday. Right now, they are in quarantine, so there's not much to see. They had a COVID outbreak. Nevertheless, it's very well maintained, as far as cleanliness. They have a lot of activities for residents. Every time I'm there, the staff are very friendly and very accommodating. My friend doesn't like to eat there because of her preferences. Otherwise, everything seems to be functioning very well in this organization. They have a very big dining area. It's very good, as far as I understand. People would assemble there, and they have little conversations. They can order food in the restaurant. It's kind of limited on what they can order. Otherwise, nobody seems to be complaining about this place. For activities, they took my friend to newly released movies. They take them grocery shopping once a week. I know they have activities every day. They have different card games.

I recently brought my grandparents here to tour the Community. They don't feel they need the "Extra Care" but with recent health declines and a couple falls, its time they find a place they will enjoy and be safe at. During the tour, Jesse was nothing but amazing. She was so informative and made sure all our questions were answered. She made sure my grandparents understood the concerns the family had and how important it is to find a community that they not only could love living at but a place that cared enough for their safety. She simplified it for them. The staff was friendly as we walked passed them during our tour and the residents were so friendly and made sure to say hello or conversate with my grandparents. My grandparents and I were invited to stay for lunch. The meal was decent. My grandparents loved it! After the tour, Jesse sat us down and went over pricing and answered any remaining questions we had. Kathy, the General Manager came by to introduce herself and thanked us for touring. The building may be older, but it was so clean and felt like home.

I toured Holiday Capital Place, it was lovely, and the rooms were very nice. The people were friendly, there was a nice gym there, they had activities that were going on, and the dining room was pretty. They're also pet friendly, and I have a bird, so it's nice that they can do that. It's just out of reach and I don't feel comfortable enough to pay that much and live a life too. They showed me a cute studio that's horseshoe-shaped, and there was also a 1-bedroom, then they had cottages outside. The place was clean, and they had a nice library too. The staff was very nice.

Holiday Capital Place is probably more than what we need right now, but it was a nice community and it's one that I'm keeping in mind if the needs of my mother change and she needs more support. They have bingo games and various activities. I was given a brochure with information about upcoming activities and trips and stuff. The rooms were nice and basic, but that's kind of what I'm looking for. I was able to see all the possible layouts and everything for the size of rooms that I was interested in for my mother. I thought I got a pretty thorough tour and a pretty good idea of what the options were. I didn't see anything concerning. It looks pretty well maintained from what I could see. The staff was very nice, helpful, and took her time with me and probably would have taken more time had I felt like I needed it. It's a little older, but everything looked to be in pretty good shape.

I went to look at Holiday Capital Place. I came without an appointment. The staff took me around and showed me the place. The facility was very clean. I spoke with a resident who has lived there for seven years. They have a library. I visited two rooms, and they were quite spacious. I liked that they were close to where I wanted to be and that they would also offer assisted living if I got worse. I did not like that they had only a kitchenette, which means no stove. They had a sink, a couple of cupboards, and a refrigerator. But there wasn't even room to put in a microwave. The staff was very helpful and very friendly. He answered my questions. They had very specific times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

We really liked Holiday Capital Place. It's lovely, clean, and affordable. The staff was friendly. They have a lot of options to help my dad out if he needs it. He really liked the place, too. They were really nice and professional. It's a little bit older, but the apartments were really nice. They were bright/well lit. They have a gym, a little movie area, restaurant style dining, and a game room where people play poker or bridge.

We went to Holiday Capital Place. It was my favorite. I like the wide hallways. And I like that everything was open. I like that well, and the rooms had a balcony. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable and the residents that we saw in the hallways were very friendly. They offered bridge, which I enjoy, and other things like outings, and they also had a place for me to park my car. I thought the apartments were a good size. I was interested in the one-bedroom, I thought they were a good size. And I liked the idea that you could get ones with balconies.

My dad is in Holiday Capital Place now. He chose it because it was close to where his doctors were, and they do things like card games, blackjack, and all the social games. He needs to be in a place where he can get more care, but he wants to stay there. They're great, the staff always answered our questions, they're accommodating, have good communication, and are helpful. The food is pretty good for a senior home, and they have a lot of activities. The facility is clean, the hallways are significant, and there's easy access. I only have one criticism and that's because they only have one elevator. They have a salon and a gym as well.

We live in Capital Place. I like best being here with our friends. There is only one elevator located in the center of the building, and it's the same elevator used by people to go up and down to their apartments, people delivering large packages or small packages, and people moving furniture in and out. Those are restricted hours for moving them in and out, but it's still the same elevator. The food is moved in and out of it, so there are times when it's awfully tied up if you wanted to bring something in. It's tough, and it takes a lot of time around meals for folks to get up and down, and leave after meals. There's quite a queue, quite a line-up, coming to meals. They are very rigid about the times when meals are served; coffee is served 15 minutes to the hour. And if you're not there in 15 minutes to the hour, so sad, too bad you have to get up and get it yourself. We've had some different chefs and a lot of different waitstaff, and that is because the facility manager I would rate as a two, she is rude to staff, and sometimes was verbally abusive with my wife over a couple of things. There was no reason, there was just no call for that. The rest of the staff are pretty good. We have a brand new assistant manager that I give a five. We had one before we gave her a five too, but she was just chased off by the rudeness of the general manager. I got to the point where I just wouldn't let her spend time talking to my wife, because on multiple occasions, she was verbally abusive, and then I just put my foot down. They don't get to talk. My wife won't initiate anything with her and I don't let her talk to my wife. The issue is just sometimes she gets so uptight and is outright rude. Cathy has also been so tight about watching pennies that it has upset the staff. We used to have some flavored creamers for our coffee, and they replaced them with a Carnation milk mix, but with no milk to it. A lot of us were very upset about that, and then they had some sweeteners, different ones, the aspartame, sugar, and saccharine, and they cut back to just sugar and the saccharin. If you use artificial sweeteners, the saccharin is sour tasting and it's made with some products that are not very good for people. She's inconsistent. Some days she's happy as could be, and others days, she's just as rude as could be. About a third of the number of people that were here when we moved in are gone. This facility is getting fairly empty. I understand that they got a good rating recently, but my wife and I were just shocked, just plain shocked because many people have moved out because of Cathy's treatment. She had one gal, one gal has a dog and it barked a few times, and the gal was told she just had to move, just plain out had to move. And I think they probably could have worked with that, but being outright told you have to move. They have an activities director that's five out of five. They have great activities, ongoing and special ones.

I had a very good visit at Capital Place. Everything was very friendly. I like the safety they were taking during the Covid. I really liked how pleasant the person was who showed me around and answered all my questions. The people there seemed to be in good spirits. It was a very pleasant review that I enjoyed going through, and it is certainly on my list to be considered when I get ready to move to a home. They've kept in touch with me. They weren't serving food at that time. They were taking the food to the individual rooms. They didn't have people getting together. The staff was very good. The building seemed just fine, but I would have liked more in the exercise room. It was clean and well taken care of. They have a lot of exits and hiking trails around there, which kind of surprised me. It seemed like it would be a nice place to live. It was clean and orderly. There were people keeping everything clean. They had a library, an exercise place, and a gathering room for everybody where they have presentations or get togethers. One thing I like about this place is that they have it set up where you can travel to another city and one of their other locations. They have rooms set aside where you can spend a free week, and I thought that was a really good thing.

I'm moving into Capital Place. What I liked the most was where it's located, because I get to go back to the neighborhood where I used to live before. I like the complex and I like my apartment. It's only one bedroom, one living room, and no kitchen, but all of my meals are provided. So far, I like the people I've dealt with. I have friends who live there who have spoken very highly of it. They have a beauty salon and an exercise room, and I have my own little patio. The staff is excellent. Everyone I've met there is a "number one" in my book. I only know what my friends have said about the food, and they say the chef is excellent. It's very clean.

We went to Capital Place, and we've decided that's where my mom's gonna be. We've chosen this community because it is something that she could afford and it's closer to where she is now. She's on a very limited income and I thought for the limited amount of income that she has, they give more support and quality of care than the other places that we went to, which were more expensive. Although Capital Place is very expensive for her, it's something we can manage for a year. If it goes up much, she'll have to move. The rooms were small, but they were nice for functioning with walkers. My mom's on oxygen as well, so I think the size of the room was good for her, and they're clean. The staff was wonderful, too. Brandy, who was I think the senior liaison, was very helpful and took us on two tours, one with my mom and one with us. It was very much like a family kind of atmosphere. They provide three meals and a shuttle van. They had a really nice recreational director, David, who was very positive, and he's trying to keep them very active and engaged. My mom had a COVID19 vaccination that they called for us to come over and said, "Since your mother's moving in, we're going to give her vaccination." She got it a week ago and it was wonderful because they're very, very attentive to that. They're very welcoming. They introduced me to one of the maintenance, and he was very nice as well, wanted to make sure that everything was the way we would want it when my mom moves in. They'll leave her with some coloring books, colored pencils, and puzzles for her to do as soon as she gets in there. It was a little welcoming kind of basket and it felt nice to be thought about that way. However, I know that care is expensive and my mom's not going to be able to stay there a long time. I was hoping it was a little bit less, like $100 a month less, so that if it goes up, she can still stay.

We moved my father to Capital Place. So far, so good. He seems happy and content there. The staff seems friendly and helpful. They answer all my questions when I'm there or if I call. The room that he's in is nice and large. It's only him, so he doesn't need a whole bunch of room. The overall atmosphere of the place is fairly quiet now. Due to Covid, there's not a lot of people out and about right now, so a lot of the stuff is not really open. They're serving meals in the rooms three times a day, but everything seems to be doing well. He likes the food. I think there's some maintenance work that needs to be done, but other than that everything seems to look fine. He is happy that they have a barber shop on-site.

My father lived here for several years before he passed away. The best things: staff truly care about the residents, everything is kept very clean, good location, lots of quality activities. The not great things: rent definitely rises every year (even with an agreement to protect you if it does - so don't fall for it), the food quality really went downhill, and there's only one elevator (which is very common for retirement communities, which is odd).

I stopped in unannounced and talked to Brandie the sales person. She was kind and listened to everything that i said. The staff seemed to know everybody by their first name. There was about 12 people playing bingo at the time. Everything is lumped into one price and i felt it was reasonable for everything that mom was going to get

Capital Place was great. The person during the visit was very welcoming. The room seemed a little small because it was a studio. It looked pretty small for a bed, a living area, and a table, but they don't do their own cooking inside their own apartments. All of the meals are prepared. They had a movie theater and a good deal of amenities there.

We loved Capital Place, mostly because the people there were amazing. The people actually care about the seniors that are there. They have caregivers onsite, and they're able to do 15 minute increments as well as hour increments. They offer three meals a day, which is included in the cost, and they also have activities available. It's everything that we need. My mother loved the food. The building itself needs an upgrade, but otherwise it's good.

I went to Capital Place. The rooms seemed very clean and nice, but it's an older community. I also thought the environment looked a little bit dated. I didn't like that the mealtimes were structured. You have to be there at a certain hour. I enjoy the staff very much. She sat down and answered all of my questions. She was patient and gave me information that I needed that I didn't even know I needed. She also called me back and checked on things.

My mom lives in Capital Place. It's OK, but it's kind of an older building, and they're having problems with the roofs leaking. The food is not good, and Mom is not happy with the food. They repeat themselves a lot. The staff is always very nice and helpful. They tell you that there's a whole lot of activities, but there's very few, like Bingo, movie night once a month with a movie that everybody has seen a hundred times, and Scrabble. They also go on outings to different places on Wednesdays. They need better quality and variety of food.

Capital Place seemed nice but probably not that cozy. They had plenty of activities, but it was far away. Although they had a unit available, it was half the size for more money than where my mom is staying now. The location and cost didn't help. The staff was very friendly and seemed to know the residents by name and had conversations with them.

Capital Place had everything you needed, good meals, and lovely people. It was a very nice place. The dining area was very nice and roomy, and everybody had a place to sit. The staff was very friendly, and they had a lot of stuff to do and see, so it was good. There's a mall that you can walk to.

Capital Place is the one we’re thinking about going to when we’re ready because it has friendly people and good food. We’re looking at a cottage outside the main building. The dining room was typical. We had lunch at three or four different places, and Capital Place was about the same as others. It's institutional, adequate, and good.

My mother selected Capital Place for her new home after visiting several other senior communities in the greater Olympia, Tumwater, Lacey area over a three month period, She and I took our time in making a selection because we wanted to find a good "fit" for her. When touring senior communities, we compared location convenience, safety measures, available on-site care, accessibility, apartment size & appearance, rental costs & move-in fees, amenities, recreational and cultural activities offered, transportation for appointments and shopping, food quality, overall facility ambience, high quality management and satisfaction of current residents, We met with the managers and toured the facility (often unannounced) on several occasions as well as participated in several social events and meals prior to making a decision. Additionally, we checked references of each of our preferred communities with knowledgeable senior community resources for possible violations and safety problems. My mother and I selected Capital Place over the other senior facilities considered because of friendly and welcoming residents and staff she spoke to each time she visited, the quality three-meals a day restaurant style dining, and it's convenient location to her home, doctors, friends and family, The other issue I needed to address was getting my mom the care she needed. Capital Place is an independent senior community and doesn't provide assisted care, however residents have the option of hiring independent care givers or care facilities to assist them with their care needs. My mother is in early stage memory loss, and has back and shoulder problems but is still is quite independent. She needs some caregiver assistance. and I found this to be a much more affordable solution for my mother than to put her in a true "assisted care" facility for her current needs. The caregivers I hired for her are independent contractors who work on site at CP seven days a week. They help her with showers, laundry, getting dressed and administering her medications. My mother has been there now for 6 months and is very satisfied with her situation. I stop by to visit with her several times a week, have good communication with the caregivers (we text) and she is usually socializing with others if not in her room. I am very happy that my mother is living at Capital Place!

Capital Place was very nice. The staff worked overtime trying to make it a really pleasant visit for me. They asked me to stay for lunch and let me sit with some of the residents there, and we just talked, which was very nice. It seemed like the activities were ongoing with all kinds of physical activities available, like weightlifting, walking, and aerobics. They also have some entertainment. It seemed like they did a really excllent job in trying to entertain the residents. The food was good. The apartments were adequate for their intended purpose, but the suites were outstanding. I would recommend this facility if you prefer this type of living because it is more affordable than any of the places I’ve visited.

We have friends in Capital Place that I visit almost weekly, and I have a couple of people that I transport every week. It's a somewhat larger facility. They have semi independent living. People have their own apartments, some of which are freestanding from the main facility like little cabins or cottages, and some are within the facility. They offer full meals, and they have a good dining room with reasonably good food. Everybody brags about the food. They have a varied menu. The staff seemed to be very attentive and keep good track of the residents; they're very helpful. When I need to locate somebody, they can easily tell me. They have a regular weekly schedule of cultural and social activities, games, educational events, and they also have a bus.

I wasn't terribly impressed with Capital Place. It looked clean and the smell was fine. It wasn't one of those places that when you walk in and you'll like, "Oh no!" and I have seen some of those. It was okay but that's about it. I just couldn't get too enthused about it. The facility itself was more like an institution. The staff treated me very politely. The residents seemed relatively happy. Their dining room was clean and the food was okay.

I have nothing bad to say about Holiday Retirement home. My Father is still housed there and is religious about their lounge and amenities. They are very friendly and the community is very hearty. Staff organized local potlucks which we were invited to as well which was fun for me.
