My Mother was in the rehab facility following an abdominal surgery. The staff was extremely friendly and communicated with me consistently. The facility is clean and the aids are attentive. PT and OT are helpful and compassionate. My mother was not a resident and only there for a short time (3 weeks) so I am not familiar with activities and other amenities. Compared to other facilities this was a pleasant experience.

In the past few years we've had 2 family members at Mira Vista. It has always had a very good reputation for Skagit Valley nursing homes for years. About 10 years ago the building went through some ownership challenges, and this year the facility was aquired by an Ensign group which has made a huge difference. The past two years the clinical staff have gotten much better than in prior years, they have dealt very well with Covid and all of the restrictions and communication. They have great activities and physicians. One of our favorite things with Grandpa being in the facility has been there Therapy team and their new Director of Rehab who is awesome. They always find a way to get good participation and results. Their "Skilled" hall is what they call the short term therapy rooms has the best aides and nurses you have ever seen. The new manager and nurse director that have been there the past couple of years are really building a great team inspite of all of the healthcare struggles that hospitals and centers are facing. Thank you for all of the good you do. Our family loves you!

Communication and follow-up skills were very poor. My brother-in-law died of Covid 19 as a result of being in facility and no effort was made by staff to offer their condolences or regrets or anything.

My elderly father was at Mira Vista several weeks. Because I do not live close, I was not able to visit him to be able to view the facility itself. I did, however, have several occasions to interact with two people on the staff by phone or email. Although pleasant people, their communication skills and follow through are terrible. I attempted more than once to get a written opinion from my father's PT and orthopedist, but never received it. I asked again just prior to his discharge and was told the PT would not be responding. WHAT! That was unbelievable to me. I told my dad that I was glad he would be discharged the next day, and let's hope he never has to go back. Anyone needing rehab in the Mt. Vernon, Washington area should check out other options.

Most of the people at Mira Vista are really there for rehab or what they call respite care. They don't really live there. My friend's room is spacious, although there are always two people/beds to a room, and most of them are confined in bed or a chair. They do have an activity room, and they have exercises and physical therapy.

Mira Vista Care Center has been very good to my Family in this difficult time for us. My Uncle was inpatient for end of life care in December. He passed away the day after Christmas and the staff was extremely caring and professional. At the time of year that is busy for everyone including them in there personal lives they were always professional and very well staffed. The facility was very clean and he had what he needed at all times. He was there for only 5 days but we spent a lot of time with the staff and other residents. They did great to accomodate the large number of family members we had coming and going. They not only took care of my uncle but all us us coming in to be with him. The Social Workers were also very helpful with getting Hospice setup and paperwork done as easily as possible. If they were meeting with us and he woke up they would leave and come back to allow us to be with him while he was awake. It was a truely wonderful experience.
