My husband is spending time in Mountain View Rehabilitation for physical therapy and occupational therapy. So, they're trying to strengthen him up so that he can regain the use of his left leg and foot, which were affected by a recent stroke. He's making good progress. He's getting stronger every day but it truly is dependent on the attitude of the patient as to how well this type of physical therapy works, and he's been improving. I go there every day to see him. At first, he's been lying in bed in between his therapy visits and now he's up sitting in his wheelchair, which is a good sign for him. It's not only been a physical battle but it's been a mental battle for him. The physical therapy is really good. They're very kind, very gentle, but they're very strong. They try and encourage the patient to continue if they're struggling mentally, encourage them that they're doing a great job, and I know they've spent extra time with my husband in trying to get him to the point where he can come home one day. So, that's where our goal is with him, trying to get him to come back where he can take care of himself. They're working on his grooming and they're working on him being able to utilize the shower and things like that on his own. He has really improved dramatically at the place. You can tell that everyone there is gifted to do this kind of work with people. They have compassion. They've been really great with my husband and I. My husband shares a room so I know the interaction between both patients has been very professional and very good. When they bring in their food, they don't just put it on the table and walk off. They actually make sure the patient is able to cut the food up and eat it by themselves. So, they have a heart of servants. I have not seen one staff member in that place that doesn't have that attitude. They realize that this is somebody's grandmother or grandfather or maybe their parents. They give them really good care. They make sure they have everything that they need. If I have a concern, they address it immediately (these are the CNAs and the housekeeping people). They're all about the patient and making sure they walk in with a smile and they greet them very sweetly in the morning, like "Good morning! How are you?" They supply newspapers for them and things like that. The staff has been great. I have not tried the food, but I've been tempted. It smells good and looks good, and my husband is a pretty picky eater. It's hot when they get it. They have homemade rolls and I think that they do a really good job on the food. My husband pretty much eats it all. Like he's starving at every meal. Also, every morning they get a piece of paper showing what they're going to get for their three meals. If they want to order something off of a separate list, they have the ability to order a hamburger or grilled cheese or whatever from a whole list of items if they don't want what's being served. They have a wide variety of activities for the residents. When my husband got there, they went over a list with him and checked it off to make sure he gets a schedule where he can go in there every week.

I have gone to Mountain View many times during the day and evening to visit loved ones. I have always found the facility clean, smelling good, and family well cared for. Therapists are great and Mountain View is a really happening place. I'm grateful for their attention to detail and care.

BEWARE !! BAD CHOICE TO GO THERE. Ones in charge are nasty, provide no phone service, give wrong meds, use an Family MD that gave me oxycodone which made my eyes roll back, and nightmares. then got pneumonia and gave me meds that did not help me. I left as soon as I could, and MY doctor gave me the right meds to clear my pneumonia. At a meeting requested by them, said I should stay because medicare was paying the bill, regardless of how bad the care was. No room on this site to say more...don't let a loved one go there.

Awful. Management needs to learn manners. They hate visitors. Want everyone on drugs and sleep all day. The lady in charge said it was normal for my grandma to sit in poop for 2hours.

This place is terrible. The food is processed they do not take specialised diets into consideration (diabetic, congestive heart failure). The nurse practitioner is rude and demeaning to the patients.

They’re great, wonderful and doing everything for her. They're in the middle of updating and remodeling, so it’s clean and not outdated, that’s for sure.

My grandmother stayed at Madeleine Villa Health Care. I preferred the facility because of the cheerful atmosphere. The staff was cordial, and they were able to accommodate my grandmother's personal needs. Although, I would suggest that they communicate better with the family. This facility is highly commendable.

After a relapse, my mother was admitted to the nursing home. It was the first experience for us as a family. The staff was caring enough and competent. During my visit there was a flu outbreak, and the facility did not seem clean. Not enough precautions were being taken. Certain residents were unsupervised and were at large to roam the facility - causing other residents and visitors angst. I recall a gentleman in a wheelchair with a telescope who cruised the corridors and stopped outside the rooms, focused his telescope onto the female residents more often than not resting in their beds. No one staff member supervised this roaming or explained to the family members visiting why this was allowed. Needless to say, after leaving the facility I was never comfortable with the fact that my mother was safe. The food was bland and unappetizng. I suspect dietary restrictions were generally the reason for lack of variety and flavor, but individualized meal plans designed for those without dietary restrictions would do more to improve the mood and health of the residents. On a positive note, the residents were paired to share rooms based not only on physically compatability, but on past associations. Friends were reunited in certain cases, and the joy and compansionship lifted the spirits and undoubtedly, improved the environment for those confined to the nursing home. The staff in charge of physical and social activities were quite good, and most residents looked forward to the selections provided by the nursing home. The building is located in a site which receives much natural light. This is important in the northern suburb of Seattle as our weather is depressing all in itself. All in all the experience was not as bad as I would have expected. However, the residents who went day in and day out with a visitor was perhaps the most depressing aspect of the home.
