Canterbury Park Signature Independent Living is a nice-looking facility. It's clean. Everybody seems to be very cordial. Mom has a one-bedroom with a living room, a kitchenette, and a nice bathroom. They're all separate. She has lots of closet space. The menu looked really good. The people were excellent and they have some activities planned.

There wasn't anything negative about our tour at Canterbury Park Signature Independent Living. The tour lady was wonderful. What she stressed a lot about that facility is the longevity of a lot of their staff. Many of the staff have been there for several years. It's a family-owned company versus the other place, which is more of a chain-type thing. They have been in business for several years. They are very oriented to the residents on comfort. The difference between the two facilities as far as decor and that sort of thing is that Canterbury is not just the white walls. They've got wallpaper and it's all very pleasant and very comforting. Whereas the other place had more white walls and more of a medical facility-type thing. Instead of their amenities being like little alcoves, they have actual rooms like their billiard rooms or parlor rooms. Their exercise place is an actual room. It's not just like little niches up to the side of the hallway. The rooms all have their own stacking washer-dryer. You don't have to go to the communal laundry room. And it was just independent living people. I used the bathroom there and it was very clean. Everything is just homey, decorated comfortable. As soon as you walk in the door, you feel like you're in a very comfortable place. Also in their package deal, you get two meals. You get breakfast and dinner, and they have a bistro that is open from 11:00 to 3:00 every day. Their prices are extremely reasonable, so you could do that for your lunch or you could buy your own stuff and put it in your own kitchen and do a lunch. The staff was able to show us a couple of rooms. One is going to be moved into. It was empty right at the moment because of one moving out, and one moving in. She was able to show us a couple of examples without anybody living in them. The courtyard is just impeccable. It's beautiful. The rooms seemed to be a little more spacious than the other place's rooms. They have activities that you can sign up for and things to keep you entertained. They have transportation available at different times. They have calendars you can sign up for and stuff. Because the meals are included, they will do their best to accommodate you if you can't be at the cafeteria. You can make arrangements ahead of time, and they will package it up and you can come pick it up if your schedule doesn't fit theirs or whatever. They do try to accommodate the meal things.

I went to Canterbury Park Signature Independent Living. It was way out of our price range. We talked to the manager and she was very informative. She was extremely helpful. Even though we immediately knew that it was out of our price range, she spent time with us to help us find something. She offered us three more places to go look at. She was excellent. That manager was great. We looked at some of the amenities and what-not. While we were waiting for her, we kind of wandered around, and we got a cup of coffee. Everything was really clean and really nice. It was overall very good.

Canterbury Park Signature Independent Living was the nicest place we toured. They provide two meals a day, six days a week. They provide housecleaning services. They provide everything, but medical needs. If you needed anything medical care, you would move across the street to their other building. One apartment was small. The other two we looked at were much more spacious. It's a new building, by far the newest of all of them that we toured. It had an enclosed patio area. You were exposed to the outdoors, but it was in the center, so it was a very secure part. It had a beauty shop. It had the restaurant-style serving. As you go into their eating area, you pick up what you want to eat and take it to your table or take it to your room. They offered arts and crafts and a woodshop. They had a one-bedroom, a two-bedroom, a one-bedroom, and a bonus room. It had really large walk-in closets. We could take our cat there. It was so secure in the hallways. The people in front of their doors had like curios with their knickknacks in them. They would have a picture of whatever animal lived there with its name on it so that the people coming into the room cleaning or whatever would know what to expect. They assigned us a representative who did check back calls. They offered a service where you can come spend a weekend with them to see how you like it. Their parking was secured as well. You entered with your key thing so you didn't have to worry about anybody coming in and tampering with your vehicle. All of the staff were kind. It was a beautiful building.

Canterbury Park is fabulous. I would move my folks in there tomorrow, if they would go. They were wonderful and very attentive. The place was clean. They called all of their clients by their first names and did a top notch job. I was impressed with the organization. They seemed to have a really good team. I am a nurse, and the fact that it was clean and well kept was important. I was very impressed. It was the only one that I was interested in for them. It was the best one in our community, in my opinion.

The staff in Canterbury Park was very nice. The apartments were nice, and some had two bedrooms. They have a nice shower and bath. The food looked pretty good, and the menu looked very nice with a lot of good stuff. They had an exercise room and an outside patio in the courtyard.

Canterbury Park is a nice-looking place. It’s close to where we live, and we’ve heard other good things about it. They were good to my mother-in-law, so I thought this might be a good place for her. It is clean, friendly, well-kept, and has nice people. The rooms are clean, large, and modern like a motel. The dining room was very well lit -- large enough to handle all the guests that were there -- and the food that I had was good. They have a variety of activities. They go to museums, casinos, the beach, lakes, and to the ocean.
