I have a family member living at Maple Ridge currently and we are looking for a new place to go. They have been neglectful of more than a few things but most concerningly problems with medications not being given on time or at all. Medications not being ordered on time and with staff being unkind to residents. I have personaly overheard people being yelled at by staff. I saw a staff member escort a resident with very obvious wet depends and pants from the dinning room to a sittting room leaving her there to sit in wet pants on furniture that is shared with other residents and visitors and the furniture is cloth covered and this residents issue of being wet was commented on by staff person as he escorted her to sit instead of gettting changed and made comfortable. There seems to be consistent complaints about baths ungiven and laundry either not done or not done timely or correctly. I have eaten the food that most complain about and I need to agree it is not good. As a matter of fact I won't eat there again and pay 8.00 a plate for something that bad. They are short staffed neglectful to a point of concern, ask around town many people have a bad story about this place. i wish we would have asked around more. Beware ansd be worried if your family memeber is moving here or considering it. Please take time ask questions. Everything looked good to us too before the move.

Maple Ridge is near my son’s home, and I really liked it. She showed us a one-bedroom that was very clean, very nice, and comfortable. I liked the staff member that I met. She was very helpful and called me on two or three occasions to see what I was doing. They told me about their activities. It would be good, and I would feel comfortable there.

My mother and I visited Maple Ridge in February. It was nice. I like the staff, which was very helpful, informative, and friendly. The place is really nice and clean, like being in a hotel. The employees were very helpful. We totally enjoyed our stay when we were there. It was very convenient, less than a minute away from where I live and close to the main town. We ate lunch there and enjoyed it. We were in a private dining area that was nicer than what I expected. I think they are fine.

Food service is poor as they are chronically understaffed. It takes 20-30 min for someone to take your order. Then another 20 min to get served. The food quality is poor with most dished slathered with sauce. The residents are mostly in wheel chairs and many need feeding assistance which they don't always get. The rooms are nice although the window heating systems are sometimes inadequate. The staff are all very nice and want to be helpful but again they are understaffed with inexperienced people attending to residents with difficult needs.

Maple Ridge was a very nice facility and everything was just fine, but I’m only 90 years old and some of those people seemed so old. Most of them were in walkers or in wheelchairs. It just wasn’t for us. It was a very nice facility, and I couldn’t complain about that. They served us a meal that was very nice, too, and the people were very accommodating, but we just decided that we’re not going in that direction right now. It’s just that most of the people seemed like they had physical problems.

I visited this location on many occasions to care for a resident through a home care agency (so I wasn't actually employed by the facility in question). Maple Ridge was well laid out, very accommodating to the residents with hallways wide enough for two wheelchairs side by side with room to spare, and easy accessibility between floors with ample stairs and roomy elevators. The staff was friendly, willing to assist residents that weren't on their assignment for the day, and were quite knowledgeable about the facility and its offered programs. Also, the apartments available to the residents are simply wonderful - perfectly set up for the elderly with handrails all around the bathroom, easy to operate appliances, comfortable furniture; the resident I cared for actually got to connect two of the apartments to share the space with her husband, and be able to entertain visiting family. Overall, a wonderful facility that seems to be willing to give their residences what they desire, and provide many opportunities for these seniors to socialize and still experience life without feeling like they're trapped in a home.
